Birth/ Death: (Birth not recorded-227 B.C.E.)
Appearance: Book 5 Episode 6
Bio:
A famous Chinese warrior. His story happened in China, and was quoted as a prediction of possible similar ending of Minamoto no Yoritomo. Although the famous historical figure was depicted slightly differently in different stories, in The Tale of The Heike, he appeared as a retainer/warrior of the crown prince Dan, who chose Jing Ke to assassinate Qin Shi Huang, the First Emperor of China. He first got the head of Fan Yuqi, who was wanted by Shi Huang and whose families was wiped out by him, and therefore was willing to sacrifice his life to let Jing Ke kill the First Emperor. He then gathered Qin Wuyang, who is also a strong warrior. With the head of Yuqi he managed to meet the first emperor himself in his palace, and almost succeeded to kill him. However, Shi Huang begged for a moment to hear a kin (an ancient Chinese musical instrument), and caught the chance to hide. While Jing Ke lost his last chance to kill the First Emperor, Shi Huang cut Jing Ke into pieces and Yan was finally destroyed.
