Facilitated by the National TB Program, National Reference Laboratory of Cote d’Ivoire, World Health Organization, Riccardo Alagna from the SRL Milan has provided support to develop Xpert MTB/Rif implementation plan 2018-2022 and develop the document that regulates and standardize the national specimen transport system.
The SRL Milan has also supported the country to finalize the DRS and results have been included on the WHO Global TB report 2017. Upon request of the NTP, the SRL of Milan has also provided support to develop the National Strategic Plan 2018-2022, estimate the funding needs for the next Global Funds grant cycle, support on GF country team clarifications and develop a new interim national diagnostic algorithm to move toward the universal patient access to rapid testing and DST planned for 2020

Facilitated by the National TB Program, National Reference Laboratory of Cote d’Ivoire, World Health Organization, Riccardo Alagna from the SRL Milan has provided support to and decentralize Xpert MTB/RIF technology at regional level by (i)support training activities for technicians and clinicians and, (ii) in close collaboration with Savics, facilitate the pilot implementation of the DataToCare system in 8 GeneXpert sites. The SRL Milan has also assisted the National Reference Laboratory in strengthening the culture system and DST, implementing the MTBDRsl, and executing the Drug Resistance Survey. The SRL Milan has also provided support to improve laboratory data management at the NRL with a tool implementation (excel based) that collect laboratory results and automatically calculate laboratory indicators in line with the “GLI Practical Guide for TB laboratory Strengthening” document.
