READ 180

Program Description

Read 180 is a blended learning solution built to ensure all readers are on a track to college, career, and beyond. READ 180 challenges students to work hard, and by doing so, attain reading success through adaptive technology that delivers reading instruction for students based on their own reading levels and needs. The program provides valuable practice with essential reading skills and strategies and motivates students to become confident and lifelong readers.

Teacher Highlights

The Health Leadership High School Read 180 program was recognized by Albuquerque Public Schools and the Albuquerque Public School Title I program for being 1 of 5 schools in the district to meet or exceed our end of the year growth goal by January.

Seven of our HLHS students were recognized as Albuquerque Public School's “99 READ 180 Super Stars”. These students showed strong participation in the Read 180 program and surpassed their goal for Lexile gains by mid-year.

At HLHS the average student growth in the class this year was 71 Lexile points, and we have exited 3 students from the program for achieving grade level proficiency.

I am so very proud of this group of students. They have taken the adversity of their current situation and persevered to better themselves, their skills and their future.
