Project Description

Driving Question: How can we improve our cardiovascular health through dance?

Project Health Domains: Systems and Clients

Project Problem + Purpose: In an age where obesity rates are rising due to fast food, modern lifestyles and access to quality organic food it is as important as ever to exercise on a daily basis. In this project our students are exercising through learning different style of dance (Salsa, Merengue, Bachata, Cumbia, Western).

Community Partners + Engagement: We would like to thank the Thomas Bell Community Center for allowing our school and the PE program for continually rent space at the center.

Teacher Highlights

I am very proud of the resilience I've observed from our HLHS students during these trying times.

Shacty D.

Shacty has done a wonderful job with staying engaged and completing tasks on time. Before the quarantine started Shacty was always the first student to fully participate, hit the dance floor and cut a rug!

Itzel H.

Itzel managed consistent online contact and completed her required tasks. She also demonstrated superior dance steps in our "Cumbia" learning module.

Zaira H.

Zaira elected to complete a 50-burpee a day challenge. Congratulations on improving your physical fitness from home.
