Hi
Here's a link to the program & tasks I used for Y9 Photography Sem 1 last year. Can't claim responsibility for brilliant ideas as they are all adapted from tasks kindly shared by Rossmoyne & Shenton Media legendsđ.
If you look at the program (please excuse the notes- was written for a colleague who had no media training/experience) and decide if you want any resources I can share them with you too.
Hope link works- let me know if not!

Hi Lynne,
We only have our 7's for a short 13 week rotation so we don't get too heavily into photoshop, but some things they've done in the past include the simple silhouette task attached, a multiplicity assignment (after learning basic layers/layer masks) and an Andy Warhol pop art effect. Links below:

Hi Everyone,
For those teaching Photography this year, I have found these free resources very useful. If your school uses SEQTA you can have the beginning photography PDF and Photography Key terms PDF attached to the Cover Page for the students reference.

Tracey Moffats still photography and her work in cinema is also inspiring.

James Nachtwey.
There are lots of resources on his work including a TED Talk and a documentary (âWar Photographerâ).
Not only does his work hit hard, but he is also very old school â doesnât do digital.

Trent Parke is an Australian photographer who does photo essays that are interesting. He uses traditional photography techniques as well which is interesting.
Hello,
Attached are two year photography based tasks that students, with minimal support and equipment, may find accessible from home.
The marking key follows the Vis Art outcomes (we operate Photography under Art not Media) however, you could easily tweak these.
Context: students have not done photography before.
Sorry these are only as PDF docs.
My year 9 students are mostly finishing task 2 now at home.
Yours in solidarity,
Kristyn Bowtell
