Hi all,
I am enjoying reading all of the supportive messages that everyone is sending each other during this time. I wanted to extend that support from Murdoch University. Over the last few years, the Murdoch Outreach team has engaged high school students with novel experiences across Media and Visual Arts. We recognise that all schools are facing significant hurdles to teaching across Term 2. We will continue to support your teaching during this time through scaffolded engagements featuring adapted and new resources, offered remotely using university online technologies:
Murdoch’s popular outreach program goes online! Whether by pre-recorded videos/activities or live-streamed events, we can engage your students in fun, curriculum-linked projects. If you are looking for added resources/workshops/programs for your students in Media Arts, Visual Arts or ATAR Media Production and Analysis, then we can help. We are currently developing online outreach activities in games art and design, graphic design and screen production, with more to come.
We miss having you all on campus to meet our academics and student ambassadors – so for now, we’re going to bring the experts to you! Murdoch Outreach will soon be launching an all-new podcast, where we interview researchers from across the campus about their career paths, their current projects, and more.
If you are interested in engagement activities for your students (either the above or you have some other ideas!), please don’t hesitate to get in touch with me – Becca.scollay@murdoch.edu.au(please email me directly, rather than replying to this message). I have also attached our regular outreach brochure (with our face-to-face activities), so you can see the types of activities that we normally offer.
We wish you and your students all the best.
Becca
