Bike fitting is a very challenging space due to low quality of research in the topic. This challenge has been highlighted in a book chapter (Clinical consideration of bike fitting for the triathlete). Authors outlined that, the limited level of research led to multiple 'schools of thought' (e.g. Slowtwitch, Retul, Specialized, etc.) which shows that bike fitting needs a big shake to avoid becoming a pseudoscience. A systematic review also demonstrated the lack of strong evidence associating bike fitting measures with overuse injury or pain. It is time for high quality level research, without bias from industry bodies, to determine how effective bike fitting is.
