An unnamed Native American shaman who raised and adviced young BraveStarr on an unidentified planet or moon. The people of their tribe discovered a great, power. Unfortunately the evil, self-absorbed, treacherous, aggressive, mean, pushy, emotionless, determined, earnest, stern, testy, abrasive, mysterious, prissy, erudite, diligent and efficient Stampede also desired it. Shaman encouraged his people to protect their power plant at all cost, a decision he came to regret soon enough. A heard of gigantic Broncosaurs ambushed the tribe, spitting flames from their own mouths and laserbeams from their eyes. Shaman had to use all his magic to face Stampede in astral form. But when Stampede threatened to ambush young BraveStarr, Shaman was forced to reenter his own body and protect the boy.
And he is also known as serious, humble, aspiring, mature, accountable, noble, wise, optimistic, understanding, rational, stoic, hard-working, affectionate, meticulous, altruistic and nice.
Stampede managed to gain the powere he seeked and the tribesmen made ready to flee the planet in Totem-pole shaped rocket ships. But the power plant's energy proved even too powerful for Stampede to absorb, and as he expelled it, he destroyed his own horde of Broncosaurs and the entire planet. All but one of the escaping rocket ships also went up in flame, leaving Shaman and BraveStarr the last of their tribe. From that day forward, Shaman could never forgive himself for what his actions cost. When their rocket passed through a newly formed set of stars, BraveStarr was unexpectedly granted four Spirit Animal Powers.
Stampede has also managed to survive and chose the planet New Texas to build himself a new base of operations similar to the one he had on the planet of the Tribe. Shaman sought out the planet to face his archenemy again. Knowing his rocketship would have to make a crash landing, Shaman put his young ward in suspended animation and ejected his emergency capsule into space, in range of a Galactic Marshal Space Station. That way he was ensured that the marshals would look for BraveStar and take care of him. Shaman gave BraveStarr one half of his tribe amulet to know him by if they ever meet again.
Once BraveStarr was safely off the ship, Shaman used his magic powers to draw several asteroids from the field he was passing through to cling to his statship to form a wall of protection. Despite of this, the ship began to burn up upon entering the planet atmosphere and kept gaining speed as it shot down towards the barren land. Because of this great speed, it bounced off several rocks and landed upright atop a mountain peak. As the lava cooled and cracked, parts of the ship became visible again, standing tall and proud on top of the mountain peak like a giant totem pole made of rock and metal. Shaman miraculously survived intact, but the strain turned his hair completely white, whereas before it would have been black with only two streaks of white.
He served as an adviser to BraveStarr. On rare occasions, Shaman has demonstrated extremely powerful magic and during the Christmas special, a rendition of Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol, he served as the three spirits. BraveStarr sees Shaman as a paternal figure since he (BraveStarr) never knew his real parents, and this was exploited by the bad guys occasionally. While the Shaman rarely expressed it, he was known to view BraveStarr as a son. He lives in a towering animal-carved mountain called Starr Peak (in reality the remains of his crashed star ship, covered by cooled magma), under which is a large Kerium deposit. In the episode, The Price, he appeared to Brad when he became faced with a dilemma in which he can't stop Jay from eliminating himself, but he will not sit back and let it happen either.
The movie BraveStarr tells us that The Shaman and Stampede have a history, and that Stampede is the primary reason Shaman has moved to New Texas.
Danna was an alien boy and childhood friend of BraveStarr when both were growing up on an unidentified desert planet.
One day, the two friends were playing a game with an Anti-Gravity Ball which Danna controlled by remote. Young BraveStarr claimed that Danna had hit him on the head on purpose, but Danna denied this. Enraged at being called a lyar, Danna jumped on BraveStarr and they began to fight. But Shaman appeared on the scene, having sensed the anger in BraveStarr's spirit. Shaman told them he had looked into Danna's mind and found him innocent.
Afterwards, BraveStarr and Danna were closer friends than before because they understood each other better.
Rampage is a cybernetic bull that roamed the Iron Mountains until he is landed upon by Handlebar. After a fight that ensues in which he is saved by Handlebar from falling off a cliff into a pool of lava he isbefriended by Handlebar. While Handlebar was rushing to the aid of Marshal BraveStarr and Thirty/Thirty to fight Krang slavers Rampage puts Handlebar on his back and aids by ramming the slavers ship repeatedly. He is last seen in the PSA after the show licking Handlebars face.
Long after the Great Equus had died, his spirit endured inside a massive stone statue inside the entrance to the Hall of Equestroids, now in ruins. When Marshal BraveStarr and Shaman went looking for Thirty/Thirty at the Hall of Equestroids after the latter had gone missing, and they came across the giant statue of the Great Equus. The eyes of the statue glowed with a yellow energy and the stone cracked and fell away, revealing the image of the Great Equus underneath.
The Great Equus was a powerful wielder of magic, equal to that of Shaman, and the two seemed to have knowledge of each other. Shaman and Great Equus communed, and Great Equus revealed that Thirty/Thirty had gone back in time to before the Hall of Equestroids was a ruin. Great Equus seemed angry that Thirty/Thirty had been upset, refused to accept any apology, and explained that BraveStarr would have to travel back in time to battle with Thirty/Thirty (as he had done in their first encounter) to prove he is worthy of Thirty/Thirty's companionship. BraveStarr agreed, and the combined powers of Shaman and Great Equus sent BraveStarr back in time.
After this, the rubble around the pedestal rose up and covered the Great Equus, and he once again returned to being a statue
They are Native to the planet of New Texas, Sand Vultures are dangerous reptilian creatures that fly above the Bad Lands looking for prey. The mere sight of two Sand Vultures flying above him caused Zeke to abandon his search for The Lost City and Wild Child.
During one particularly Kerium-free dry spell, Zeke and fellow prospector Billy-Bob could only afford one glass of Sweetwater between the two of them at Handlebar's Trading Post. When two Prairie People arrived carrying Kerium, Zeke, Billy-Bob and Fred became envious, started to call the Prairie People names such as 'Critters' and chased the natives right out of the Trading Post onto Main Street. There, the Prospectors faced off with BraveStarr, who warned them not to draw their Neutra-Lasers. When they did so anyway, BraveStarr shot Zeke and Fred's weapons right out of their hands, then caught and crushed them.
Back at the Trading Post, the three prospectors considered taking the Kerium from the small Prairie People by force. Once again Marshal BraveStarr gave them a warning. But when Judge J.B. McBride was kidnapped by a couple of masked Prairie People, the prospectors drove out towards the Prairie People Settlement on Turbo-Mules, vowing to drive the natives into the Badlands. Although they claimed to do this to rescue J.B., their main goal was to get their hands on the Prairie People's Kerium.
Upon arriving at the Settlement, BraveStarr was already there waiting for them and this time, he shot the Neutra-Lasers out of all three of the Prospector's hands (apparently Zeke and Fred had a spare Neutra-Laser on hand, since they wouldn't have had enough currency to buy a new one). Judge J.B., who had escaped by herself, was on the scene and had with her evidence that the Prairie People had been framed by Tex Hex, who used robot look-a-likes to kidnap J.B. Billy-Bob was the first of the three to offer his apologies, only to find Deputy Fuzz cocking a Neutra-Laser of his own. But Fuzz used the laser beam to shoot at a nearby mountain, revealing a stack of Kerium beneath the rock. This made the three humans ecstatic with joy. They immediately began to take a share of Kerium for themselves without as much as a thank you. (Kerium Fever)
While searching for The Lost City in the Bad Lands, Zeke ended up being chased by Dingoes. During this encounter Zeke thought he spotted a human child amongst the Dingoes. He informed Marshal BraveStarr and Judge J.B. McBride and together with Thirty/Thirty headed back into the Bad Lands.
However, when confonted with Sand Vultures flying ominously above them, Zeke decided to head back to Fort Kerium on his Turbo-Mule, leaving the others to resume the search.
