Welcome to the portal for the ships of Battlestar Galactica. Ships play a vital role in the Galactica saga, providing the Colonials with a means of escaping the Cylons (and giving the Cylons a means of pursuing them). From the Adriatic to the Zephyr, each ship has its role to play, and you can learn more about some of the ships of the Fleet here.
There are three known Cylon spacecraft:
Basestar: Capital ships of the Cylon military force, analogous to the Colonial battlestar.
Raider: The primary fighter of the Cylon forces, manned by two pilots and a ship commander.
Freighter: Ships used throughout the Cylon sphere of influence to provide fuel. May be used to support an offensive operation, as demonstrated at the Battle of Cimtar.

Galactica is one of a handful of combination warship/fighter carriers, known as battlestars, of the Twelve Colonies of Man. Its task is to defend the Colonies' citizens from the Cylon Empire. Galactica represented the Colonial planet of Caprica.
Galactica was first brought into service approximately mid-way during the Thousand Yahren War with the Cylons. Galactica served with distinction throughout the conflict.
Galactica and her sister ships combined the roles of battle cruiser and fighter carrier, having a massive offensive capability in terms of on-board weapons and Starhound Viper space superiority fighters.
Galactica is one of only five battlestars believed to have survived the long war, and was under the leadership of Commander Adama, a distinguished member of the Council of Twelve.
Galactica and sister battlestars before the abortive Peace Conference.
The remaining battlestars amass at Cimtar for what is believed by President Adar to be a historic peace treaty signing with the Cylons. However, with the villainous aid of one of the Council's members, Baltar, Adar ignores several apparent threats to the battlestars, leaving all of them open to a massive Cylon Raider attack. Galactica Viper pilots Apollo and Zac encounter the Raider fleet, and is able to warn Galactica of the ruse.
Unfortunately, Commander Adama is unable to convince Adar to launch their Viper squadrons or place the other battlestars on alert. Adama chooses to launch his squadrons against Adar's orders, feigning a battle drill, and activates the battlestar's shields to meet any attacks.
Realizing that the Raider fleet is far away from any locatable basestars to support them, and after seeing press reports of other Raider attacks on Caprica, Adama realizes that the Twelve Colonies themselves are in mortal danger from basestar attacks, and orders Galactica to speed away to Caprica. The battlestar arrives too late; a handful of humans survive the genocidal onslaught.
The battlestar fleet, including Adar's flagship, Atlantia, is destroyed, save Galactica, the sole surviving battlestar from the attack. Adama sends out word to all the survivors to take whatever space going vessel they can find and rendezvous with Galactica. Together, Galactica and 220 other Colonial ships leave Colonial space in search of Earth, the mythic home of the Thirteenth Tribe. While initially believed to be the only battlestar to survive the Destruction of the Twelve Colonies, the battlestar Pegasus is found, but soon disappears in a pyrrhic mission.
Galactica serves three main military functions provided by battlestars, operating as fighter carrier, a battleship and a mobile base of operations all in one massive platform.
Following the destruction of the Twelve Colonies, Galactica is forced to dramatically increase the number of crew she carries. Galactica is originally equipped with two Viper squadrons, Red and Blue. She acquires two additional squadrons, Silver Spar Squadron and Bronze Spar Squadron from the battlestar Pegasus, following that ship's disappearance in, boosting Galactica's fighter strength to one hundred-fifty Vipers.
Galactica has her own heavy offensive batteries, consisting of 32 known turbo-lasers and fusion missiles.
The primary power aboard Colonial battlestars are provided by a combination of tylium energizers and advanced fusion reactors.
Galactica is able to travel at lightspeed, but rarely does so with her civilian Fleet in tow, as no other ships in the Fleet have lightspeed ability.
We learn that the standard battlestar type vessel has a crew of 496 personnel with 200 Warriors. From "The Living Legend" we know that battlestars carry 75 Vipers, 12 Landram land based troop transports and 12 shuttlecraft.
In the event of imminent damage, Galactica can seal off her compartments to localize damage.
Galactica relies on scanners to locate and track objects around it. These scanners can be disabled by a significant hit to the bridge, leaving Galactica blind and forcing her to rely on her complement of Vipers to act as her "eyes".
Galactica has an automated firefighting capability, managed by the boroton mist control center. In the event of its destruction all firefighting must be conducted manually. The fireleader coordinates the manual firefighting efforts.
Galactica makes use of gyros in order to maintain her orientation. If Apollo and Starbuck fail to detonate the explosives in exactly the planned pattern the ship's gyros would go wild .
During the course of the series, many parts of Galactica are shown.
Core command - Most frequently seen is Galactica's command center, or bridge, which features a huge viewing window with a large shield that can be put in place, and a rotating command console from where the commander can observe operations.

The ship is divided in to decks and sections designated with Greek letters. During "Fire in Space" the fire is initially out of control on alpha deck, in beta and gamma sections. Dialogue indicates that solium storage is located in or near gamma section. Sections are divided into compartments, with as many as 43 compartments in a section. A series of ducts run throughout the ship. These ducts are too small for humans to fit through, but large enough for Muffit.
Core Command is the central nerve center of a Colonial battlestar. It is the bridge of the ship, where the ship's commander oversees operations.
Egg-shaped, narrowing toward the bow, Core Command is separated into three tiers. The upper tier is a small rotating platform. It has a command chair and a keyboard and scanner setup. It is often manned by either Adama, Tigh, or Omega on Galactica. The middle tier surrounds the room in a ring. There are various scanners and stations on this level. People walking into core command enter at the middle level. Athena often mans a scanner at this level.
The stations of the Bridge.
The display grid.
Also on the middle level immediately forward of the Command Chair is a two-place combined helm/astrogation console with joysticks (the same design as used in the Viper cockpit, including the Turbo, IM, and Fire buttons) at both positions to steer the Galactica through the three spatial dimensions.
The starboard side of the middle level has a room extending outward from the level's circumference with a number of computer or communications consoles staffed by standing personnel -- these are not seated positions. The bottom tier is recessed in the middle of the room and is below the level of the forward window. There are several stations on this level. Rigel coordinates Viper launches from a station on this level. During a battle, the commanding officer may order that shields be activated, which drop to protect Core Command from direct attacks.
The bachelor officer's quarters are where unmarried officers are quartered aboard Galactica. The rather spartan accommodations feature an upper area where the bunks are located, as well as a lower lounge area. There are three beds to a bunk. There are some chairs in the upper bunk area, as well as couches and a table in the lower lounge area. The walls are appointed with some paintings, the insignia of Galactica, as well as what appear to be training aids.
The bachelor officer's quarters appear subject to flash inspection (as executed by Colonel Tigh), but this appears to be a rarity. Boxey joins some of the pilots for a game of pyramid in the lounge area until Cassiopeia takes him to bed, chastising the officers for corrupting the youth.
The life science center is the medical care facility on board a Colonial battlestar. Overseeing the life science center on Galactica is Dr. Paye, later being succeeded by Dr. Salik.
The Officer's Club is a lounge on Galactica where pilots and other officers can meet to relax and have a drink.
Each table has a bell in its proximity, so that officer's can get the attention of their fellow patrons. Sometimes this means notifying the patrons that a drink is "on them".
Cain and Cassiopeia meet in the Officer's Club (which forces Sheba to leave in disgust). Sheba and Bojay also meet Cain here and express their support of him, even to the point of mutiny.
Adama's quarters are aboard Galactica, located near the hull due to the presence of view ports, as well as near core command.
The quarters consist of at least two different rooms, an office area and a bedroom. The office area has a desk, as well as some shelves . The bedroom has a bed with a viewport over it, some recessed lockers, and a table with chairs. Both areas have a telephone on the wall near the entrance. Adama is put to bed rest in his quarters under the observation of Cassiopeia, after contracting an unspecified ailmen
A rejuvenation center is a recreational area on a Colonial ship meant for recreation by a general crew.
On the Galactica, this area was used by both pilots and the ship's general crew. Galactica's rejuvenation center contained gaming tables, drinks and was housed away from the ship's hull.
When a Cylon kamikaze attack caused internal fires to break out around the ship, the rejuvenation center was cut off from the rest of the ship. This left Lieutenant Boomer, Athena, Boxey, the robotic Muffit II and roughly a dozen personnel unable to escape the fire. Had it not been for the efforts of Apollo and Starbuck, as well as the effort of Muffit II to bring the trapped personnel breathers, the blaze would have killed everyone in the rejuvenation center.
The Colonial Viper is the primary space superiority fighter and attack craft deployed by the Colonial military. Capable of both atmospheric and long-range spacial flight, the Viper is a single-pilot craft with two-forward mounted laser-torpedo guns as standard.
The Viper is capable of rapid acceleration in the form of a "turbo boost" feature, which results in greater fuel usage. Vipers are also able to abruptly stop forward acceleration by using their reverse thrusters and braking flaps.
Vipers are equipped with an onboard computer which contains a warbook, an electronic reference of ships which, in conjunction with scanners, can give the pilot information on a ship and identify whether or not there are life forms onboard the said ship.
In addition, Vipers' computer is capable of recording messages, which can be played back by Warriors or other persons who happen across an unoccupied Viper.
Starchaser is the name given to Recon Viper 1, a variant of the Colonial Viper.
Amongst its modifications are the Computer, Oral Response Activated system, which is capable of piloting the ship without the need for a human pilot. It is fitted with a second set of pulse generators, thus doubling the speed of the craft, and is able to "outrun anything in the galaxy".
However, these modifications come at a cost: Starchaser has no teeth, as its laser generators had to be removed in order to make room for the pulse generators. As it retains the shape, weight, and size of the regular Viper, Starchaser can continue to make use of the launch tubes.
Its first pilot is Lieutenant Starbuck, who volunteers to use the new variant primarily so that he can dine in the re-opened lounge on Rising Star with Cassiopeia. Believing the mission to be fairly standard, Starbuck does not realize that the first patrol outside the Cyrannus galaxy leads him into discovering a lost Colonial penal asteroid and ambrosa that is nearly a millennium old
Recon Probe Delta impacts with the A-B Raider.
Recon Probe Delta is one of many Vipers tasked with patrolling the flight paths to Earth so as to detect any wayward Cylon craft before they detect the Thirteenth Colony.
Piloted by Captain Kanon and Lieutenant Briton, the recon probe detects an advanced Cylon Raider that will make its way to Earth. What is more disturbing to both is that the Cylons appear to have taken on humanoid form and, seeing as laser fire is ineffective against the ship, they decide to ram it.
Delta is severely damaged and drifts off into space, while the A-B Raider drifts off towards Earth to be captured by Earth's gravity. It is this Viper that the Galacticans believe to be heading to Earth, but it is subsequently recovered by another Viper patrol. Due to this, Adama and Doctor Zee now learn about the Cylon androids and the advanced technology the Cylons have created.
The battlestar Pegasus, in the years prior to the fall of the Colonies, was assigned to patrol the edges of Colonial space under the leadership of Commander Cain. Cain was a noteworthy military leader, and was in fact known as a "living legend."
Two yahren before the destruction of the Colonies, Pegasus was involved in the Battle of Molecay with the Cylons. The battle was a complete disaster for the Colonials and the entire fifth fleet, except Pegasus, was destroyed. Pegasus managed to slip away from the battle and, aware that the route back home would be crawling with Cylons, Cain ordered the battlestar out into deep space.
As a result, Pegasus is the second of only two battlestars known to have survived the Cylon attack.
Pegasus encounters Galactica in "The Living Legend". At that time, two of Cain's key Viper pilots are Lieutenant Bojay and his daughter, Lieutenant Sheba.
The two battlestars meet and conduct a fierce assault against the Cylons. Toward the end of the battle, Cain leads his ship against two Cylon basestars to permit Galactica and the Fleet to escape. Lieutenant Sheba, remains with Galactica after Pegasus disappears, as does Lieutenant Bojay. In the battle Cain orders the use of electronic defense shields, which seems to be an ability unique to Pegasus.
Atlantia was the battlestar on which the Quorum of Twelve met in anticipation of the coming treaty between humanity and the Cylons that would bring to an end the Thousand-Yahren War.
Atlantia was destroyed when the treaty rendezvous at Cimtar turned out to be a trap. A Cylon Raider flew up one of her flight pods in a suicide attack and destroyed her from within. Three of the remaining battlestars of the Colonial fleet also perished in the attack with only Galactica surviving to fend off the Cylons.
Acropolis was one of five battlestars sent to the peace conference near the old moon Cimtar, which then turned out to be an ambush by the Cylons. While Galactica was able to survive, as it had left the battle early to return to the Twelve Colonies, the attack destroyed Atlantia and three others, including Acropolis.
Though not specifically seen on screen, the battlestar Pacifica is mentioned when the Cylons attack the fleet at Cimtar. It is likely, that Acropolis and Triton are the other unnamed battlestars with the Atlantia and Galactica at Cimtar.

After the destruction of the Twelve Colonies in a devastating genocidal attack on the Colonial worlds, Commander Adama orders all survivors to find what operational ships that remain on their shattered worlds and fly them towards battlestar Galactica, the sole surviving battlestar after her sister warships are also destroyed in the two-prong Cylon attack. With nowhere else to call home, Adama decrees that the remnants of humanity will search for the Thirteenth Tribe on a planet called Earth.
Under the guardianship of Galactica, the Fleet comprises of 220 civilian ships. With the exception of Galactica, the ships are not capable of lightspeed flight. The Fleet's overall speed is limited to that of the slowest ship within the group. As all ships in the Fleet were filled to (or over) capacity, removing the slower ships from the caravan is not a option.
Agricultural ship, civilian .
Commanded by Captain Dmitri, this ship is presumably a source for meat and other poultry. Chameleon posed as Dimitri in order to con some Borellian Nomen (Bora, Maga and Taba) into buying parts to build a ship of an unknown type.
The Agro Ship 9 is the last remaining Agro Ship within the fleet, after her other two sister ships are destroyed by a Cylons task force.
Lead Agro Specialist Carmichael oversaw this agro ship; Carmichael later informs Colonel Tigh that the ship could produce agro supplies but was in need of new seedlings.
Apparently seedlings are not kept aboard or not in enough quantity to meet the bare-minimum needs of the Fleet's members. This ship obtains seedlings from Sectar by the efforts of Adama, Starbuck, Apollo, Boomer and Siress Belloby.
During his time with the Fleet, Count Iblis makes way to this ship many times, thanks to Lieutenant Sheba. As proof of his alleged miracles, he manages to accelerate the growth of the plants making fruits larger and the food plentiful. Carmichael calls this a "miracle", however Doctor Wilker disproves this belief when he discovers that a form of radiation accelerated the growth of the crops
The Canaris is a shuttle that makes runs to and from the Rising Star. The shuttle is laid out much like a common flight, with two rows of seats on each side of the shuttle, as well as a scanner behind every pair of seats.
Chameleon and Siress Blassie traveled on the Canaris to get to the Rising Star; Chameleon had hoped to escape the Borellian Nomen who were on a blood hunt for him.
Celestra is a civilian electronics ship within the Fleet, primarily responsible for work in the field of electronics, including Viper equipment development and testing. Celestra has an extensive docking bay, capable of docking numerous Vipers and shuttle craft. The ship has very little in the way of creature comforts, such as recreational facilities; the bridge is accessible only from its aft quarter.
Like all ships in the Fleet, Celestra has a homing beacon to stay with the Fleet. Celestra was most recently led by Commander Kronus, who captained the vessel from the time of the holocaust until his death (at the helm of Celestra, during an attempted mutiny). The ship's former executive officer was Charka, the orchestrator of the failed mutiny, now presumably imprisoned. The Celestra's current commander structure is unknown.
A majority of Celestra crew members are electronics specialists, while a few are security guards, shuttle pilots and ship operators. To oppose executive officer Charka's abusive practices, such as double-shifting entire families, many crewmembers undertook a mutiny, attempting to steal a shuttle and escape to a remote planet. Their mutiny failed amidst a laser battle in the docking bay. They were captured and being transported to a hearing when they suddenly found themselves stranded in deep space in the Celestra's shuttle.
The crew members used their electronics expertise to modify the shuttle's scanners to track ions, which pinpointed the Celestra's location, thereby rescuing themselves.
Damon, electronics specialist, leader of first mutiny
Aurora, shuttle pilot, former love of Starbuck
Hermes, helm officer on bridge, participant in second mutiny
It is possible that Celestra was originally designed to be a work ship, with only its captain and a few others to remain permanently aboard; most of its crew would ferry on and off the ship in ten-centar (hour) shifts, for example. However, with the fleet constantly on the run post-holocaust, Celestra may have been forced to accommodate many more full-time crewmembers than its original design intended, hence the uprising.
Delphi is a freighter in the Galactican Fleet. It serves as the Fleet's school ship for 137 children, twelve of whom became known as The Super Scouts.
This freighter, which suffers from engine trouble, is attacked by Cylons, but the attack is staved off by Boomer and a group of Vipers long enough for Troy and Dillon to evacuate everyone before the ship explode.
Freighter, civilian ship. A dejected Apollo tells an equally-dejected Starbuck that he found a little place on board the freighter that "with a little paint, and some nice curtains, it's so cozy".
The Gemini appears in the Original Series as the ship where Cassiopeia is rescued in. Refugees are primarily from Gemoni and are living in the ship's freight containers. The freighter is one of several ships suspected of having a solium leak, which led to the discovery of Cassiopeia and the fact that Sire Uri was greedily hoarding supplies onboard the Rising Star. It would later travel to Carillon and remain in orbit over the planet until Carillon's destruction.
Adama is forced to pay a visit to the Gemini in order to attempt to woo Siress Belloby in exchange for an energizer she owns that he hopes to trade for agro supplies. Count Iblis plays the part of demagogue aboard the Gemini, promising food to the hungry masses in exchange for their support. After securing their allegiance word comes in that the Agro Ship was seeing a miraculous crop appear.
The freighter Gemini survives the journey to Earth. As news spread of their discover, Dillon walks through the ship, greeting survivors and telling them "we've made it" en route to Troy's quarters.
Apparently, Troy lives aboard this ship, as he is packing his personal effects, including a picture of him with his parents, Serina and Apollo.
Inter-Fleet Broadcasting (IFB) offers all the media and entertainment programming for the Fleet. IFB is based on the Comp-Tel Ship. Shows range from sports coverage to "Warrior of the Centare".IFB is also a news and current-events service.
The purpose of the Orphan Ship appears to be oriented towards the care and processing of children orphaned during the fall of the Colonies.
Chameleon claims to be a geneticist from the Orphan Ship and claims that the list for genetic testing is "yahren long".Colonel Tigh later comments to Siress Tinia that Council Security would be unable to stop an escape from the Orphan Ship.
The Colonials flew an old-style class of liner relegated to support roles or adopted as cargo transports.
Following the destruction of the Twelve Colonies, however, at least one of these old vessels is transformed into a prison barge, where criminals were detained.
Prisoners on such a vessel are sometimes referred to (impolitely) as Barge Lice
Prior to the Battle of Cimtar and subsequent fall of the Twelve Colonies, Rising Star was a luxury liner operated by Trans Stellar Spacelines which traveled throughout the Colonies and various sectors in the Colonial sphere of influence. It is capable of both atmospheric and space flight, as well as planetary landing and unaided launch.
Rising Star consists of at least seven decks, including an "elite" level and storage facilities inaccessible by passengers. Among these levels are a gambling chancelory guest rooms, dining level and recreation level where visitors could watch Triad competitions. She also contains a main waiting area for passengers that arrive and depart the ship and various entertainment areas, such as open stages where dances and shows are performed.
Her crew consists of various hired security guards, maitre d's, chancery game operators and other crew employed by Trans Stellar Spacelines.
With the Thousand-Yahren War resulting in a devestating defeat for the Colonials, Rising Star became one of the 220 ships to survive the Cylons' holocaust. Under the direction of Galactica's Warriors, including Flight Sergeant Ortega, Rising Star is used to rescue any surviving women and children on Caprica. Despite these restrictions, Ortega takes bribes by at least three men for spots aboard the ship.
After the Fleet was settled, Commander Adama opens the dining level on Rising Star as a morale booster among the survivors, in the hopes of giving them an evening to look forward too. So popular is this idea that the waiting list is noted to be at least a yahren long.
Further, many of the facilities aboard Rising Star are used by the survivors in the Fleet, including the chancery, dancing halls, and for sports, such as Triad. Shuttles between ships in the Fleet, such as Canaris, ferry survivors to and from Rising Star
Sixth-millennium starfighters are obsolete spacecraft that the Proteus enforcers use to patrol and defend Proteus. Croad pilots such a craft, pursuing a sixth-millennium shuttle smuggling ambrosa. Although apparently 1,000 yahrens older, the design of the sixth-millennium starfighter is extremely similar to that of the Colonial Viper. The sixth-millennium starfighter fuselage is much more squat and has two engines rather than three. It, like the Viper, is armed with a pair of laser cannons.
A basestar is a large capital warship of the Cylon Alliance.
Basestars are immense vehicles that, like their Colonial counterparts, the battlestars, serve as a combination of aircraft carrier and capital warship. They are capable of carrying and supporting over three hundred Raiders. Armed with missiles, over one hundred defensive laser turrets, and two long range mega pulsar weapons, the capital warship of the Cylon Alliance is more than a match for any unprepared or unaware battlestar. Basestars are also designed for orbital bombardment of a planet, and, true to their name, also serve as a moving base of operations. Four complete squadrons of Raiders is the typical complement of a basestar.
Basestars, and their fighters are the key in the Cylons' genocidal destruction of the Twelve Colonies and the battlestar fleet. To fool the Colonials, the Cylons split up their fleet into two destructive units: a massive Raider fleet is sent to the Cimtar Peace Accord rendezvous, while the basestars are deployed separately to attack the Twelve Colonies. Apollo encounters a Cylon Tanker near a gas cloud, which had been used (in lieu of the elsewhere basestars) to give extended fuel reserves that enable the Raiders to reach Cimtar. Apollo finds the Raiders soon after discovering the tanker and unsuccessfully tries to warn the battlestar fleet in time.
Only the battlestar Galactica is initially known to survive the holocaust and gathers an odd assortment of civilian spacecraft with the remnants of Humanity, leaving the dead Colonies behind in search of the lost 13th Colony - Earth.
Following the flight from the death trap at Carillon, the succeeding Imperious Leader sends a basestar under Baltar's command to seek out the Fleet. Baltar's basestar is able to follow the Fleet, yet stay outside Galactica's scanning range , suggesting that basestar scanners have a longer range than their Colonial counterparts.
The basestar is modeled after the Colonial battlestar, however they are not highly maneuverable and thus rely on their shields and Raiders for defense. The shields themselves are incapable of withstanding repeated strikes from laser torpedoes, which can be delivered by a squadron Vipers, should they break through the Raider's defense. Furthermore, the ship is armed with turbo-lasers and nutron cased laser torpedoes for space warfare and wide-angle space-to-ground laser generators for planetary bombardment.
The core of a baseship is said to be "specifically sealed and shielded", as it is the location from which IL series Cylons, in addition to the Imperious Leader, command from. The core can be jettisoned from the ship in case of severe hull damage and can travel up to ten light-yahren.
A third of the basestars are dedicated to the repair and maintenance of Centurions, but are not constructed aboard ship unless circumstances require it. The section is also dedicated to recycling parts from Cylons who are irreparably damaged; such parts are melted down and forged into all new parts. In addition to the Raiders, basestars contain a "full complement of armored landing craft used for planetary subjugation"
The Raider is the primary fighter attack craft of the Cylons. Raiders are typically crewed by three centurions. Two centurions sit up front at the controls to pilot the ship, while the third centurion sits on a raised chair behind the others to command and coordinate .
It is armed with two forward-firing laser cannons and can carry bombs in bays within the wings and on racks mounted beneath the wings. Oval in shape, the piloted Raider has two sublight engines for propulsion. The vehicle is both space and atmosphere-capable.
On extended missions, Raiders have been known to be accompanied by fuel tankers. This allows wings of Raiders to cross large areas of space (relatively speaking) at sublight speeds without the aid of a basestar. This tactic is normally used on sneak attack missions, allowing Raider wings to slip past enemy defenses undetected, whereas a basestar would easily be spotted by enemy scanners.
Despite their larger crew and greater potential for firepower, the Raider often finds itself outmatched by the Colonial Viper. This may be in part to the greater maneuverability of the Viper, and the skill of the Colonial Warriors that fly them. Apollo seems confident in his ability to defeat Raiders if they possess any fewer than 10 to 1 in numbers.
The interior of the full scale Cylon Raider cockpit set measures 9' x 10' x 7'1.5" while the maximum width of the 4' 1.5" high "windshield" is 8'1" [1]. The shape and dimensions of the windshield are in fairly good agreement with those of the SFX miniature; the full scale vehicle would be about 41 feet (12.5 meters) long and 50.5 feet (15.4 meters) wide.
The massive A-B Raider is an advanced form of Cylon Raider. It has a crew of six, consisting of two Cylon androids (Andromus and Andromidus) and four Centurions. Its exact offensive and defensive capabilities are unknown. It seems to possess an offensive range far greater than that of conventional Raiders (and Colonial Vipers) as well as some form of communication jamming.
Internally, the ship has a different layout from its predecessor. In the center of the ship, the two-man console acts as a central control station, which is operated by the advanced Cylon android models. The forward two consoles are piloting controls and the stations flanking the control consoles are weapons controls, all four stations controlled by Centurions.
In the only recorded encounter, Captain Kanon and Lieutenant Britton discover the A-B Raider while on recon duty in a two-seat version Colonial Viper. Unable to damage it with the Viper's conventional weapons, Kanon rams the A-B Raider, crippling both craft. The A-B Raider's trajectory causes it to crash on the surface of Earth, destroying all its occupants except its commander, Andromus, and one of the Centurion pilots. While Lieutenant Britton is injured in the collision, the Viper manages to limp back to Galactica to report their findings on this new threat and the fact that the Cylons have discovered Earth.
The A-B Raider is fitted with an automatic detonator, a self-destruct device that is capable of destroying the craft entirely. After crash landing outside of New York City, Andromus activates this mechanism, noting they had microns until it destroyed the ship. The New York State Police that respond to the crash are unable to find anything.
The Cylon freighter (or Cylon tanker) is an unarmed ship used throughout the Cylon sphere of influence to transport fuel and other goods. Cylon fuel tankers may be used to support an offensive operation, as demonstrated at the Battle of Cimtar. Cylon fuel tankers allow the fighters to deploy far in excess of the ranges they are normally capable of without basestar support. This frees the basestars to attack the colonies while the fighters disposed of the battlestars at Cimtar.
Vipers from both Galactica and Pegagus launch a mission in an attempt to capture Cylon freighters in order to resupply the fleet. The plan is foiled when Commander Cain intentionally destroys the freighters in order to force Adama into a position where he needed to attack Gamoray.
A landram is a tracked vehicle used for ground operations, typically shuttled to a planet via a shuttle. It is capable of holding crew and cargo, and is equipped with a top mounted turret weapon. A landram was used for the initial scouting of Carillon. They were later used to evacuate civilians and warriors from the "pleasure resort" on the planet.
A landram is deployed to the surface of Kobol. A version of the landram modified for use in frigid climates is the snowram. Another modified version, this time without the cabin and open to the air, and presumably without Colonial markings, appears in "The Magnificent Warriors". It is stolen by agents of the Sheriff in Serenity.
