Perks are modifiers that affect gameplay, which can be purchased using credits without any level requirements. Perks come in 3 rarities: common, uncommon and rare. Rarity changes the cost of these perks, meaning rarer perks are more expensive. Some perks have a negative attribute to compensate the positive one.
