[DATA ACQUIRED BY BGEN ANTONIO]
[ACQUIRED ON JULY 30TH, 2022]
Division: Overwatch Vehicular Arm (OVA)
Leader: CmD Redhart
Description: FOXTROT is responsible for providing aerial support to the Combine, being capable of deploying helicopters and other air vehicles.
Vehicle deployments are based on AC ranks (Aerial Clearance), with higher clearances allowing the unit to deploy better vehicles:
AC-I = Manhack / Dropship
AC-II = Gunship / Hunter-Chopper
FOXTROT 05+ have the possibility to be given the special position of ATO (Aerial Training Officer), which allows them to grant light vehicles and train other FOXTROT for any ground vehicle. Those aspiring to NCO need to be ATOs.
While they are considered transhumans, these units can be enslaved by the Military Police.
"Originally, the OVA fell under the Transhuman Arm, under two different names, Airwatch and Groundwatch. However as the need for more pilots and vehicle operators became apparent, the Overwatch Vehicular Arm was formed.
Both Synthetics and regular mechanical vehicles are included within the OVA’s asset pool. While the mechanical vehicles are operated normally, the synthetic element is controlled by more indirect means, namely by a control terminal, but the more technical elements are kept under heavy guard so that they’re not hijacked by Resistance forces."
The Missile Launcher, while doing relatively low damage to infantry, deals a significantly higher amount of damage to vehicles. It can lock onto any air vehicles besides the manhack, although the tracking is not always as good as you would expect it to be.
Vehicles can be repaired with a repair tool, however they cannot be fully repaired once they're damaged beyond 3/4, 1/2 and 1/4 of their HP.
Unlike Rollermines, Manhacks can be destroyed with any weapon and have very little damage. However, they are hard to take down due to their manuevaribility and odd hitbox. Shooting by aiming ahead of them is a viable strategy to counter their unusual hitbox.
Manhacks can be picked up by Gravity Guns. Engineers can hack them into our side if they're taken to a Point under rebel control. Friendly Manhacks are indicated by their green light instead of the normal red.
With a total of 14,600 HP, Dropships have one the highest HP values of any vehicle. However, they're fairly easy to hit due to their big size and, for the most part, ineffective weaponry. Focusing your fire on it will surely have it accumulate damage quickly.
While they lack the same spawnpoint ability as APCs and only have 15 slots, people may spawn inside any Dropship occupant, replicating the effect (although to a lesser extent). Combine this with their speed and ability to fly and they're able to very quickly deploy troops anywhere, both to flank and capture Points. Keep an eye on your back points and make sure to take them down as soon as they show up.
Gunships have 10,080 HP, a main gun and a pulse cannon which does a lot of damage and should be avoided whenever possible. The Gunship is more bulky and more annoying to fly than the HC, take advantage of when it is vulnerable as it may be hard for it to retreat when it wants.
Hunter-Choppers have 10,500 HP, a main gun that's generally inprecise but high damage, and rockets that can decimate infantry, vehicles, and fortifications alike. Like with the Strider, those wishing to attack it should do so with different directions to avoid being obliterated by the HC's rockets, as well as having readily available cover; Groups should spread out its members and target the HC from different directions whenever it is turned away, this works best to maximize damage as the HC struggles to do damage across large spaces/gaps fast.
