A donation drive was organized to collect both old and new, reusable clothing.
1. Project Overview
"Katwa Rainbow Welfare Society" is committed to standing by the underprivileged sections of society. With this objective, we organized the 'Donation Drive 2024' on the eve of the Sharadiya Durga Puja festival. Our primary goal was to bring smiles to the faces of 100 underprivileged children by providing them with new clothes for the festival.
2. Date and Venue
Date: 12th September to 15th September, 2024
Time: 1:30 PM to 9:30 PM
Venue: Nazrul Mancha Ground, Katwa
In Association with: "Rupang Dehi" Exhibition organized by the TANAYAS group.
3. Key Objectives
Through this project, we focused on the following areas:
Old Clothes Collection: Collecting usable old clothes for people of all ages to distribute among those in need.
Educational Supplies: Collecting notebooks, pens, pencils, and storybooks for children's education.
Support for Orphanages: Collecting bedsheets (for single beds), mosquito nets, and essential groceries for local orphanages.
Public Awareness: Introducing our members and the mission of our society to the general public.
4. Activity Description
A dedicated stall was set up by our society at the "Rupang Dehi" exhibition premises. Over the four days, we received an overwhelming response from the people of Katwa. Visitors contributed directly by donating clothes, funds, toys, and books at our stall. Our volunteers worked tirelessly to document every donation and brief the donors about our ongoing social welfare activities.
5. Impact and Achievements
The funds and materials collected through this drive will be used directly for the welfare of underprivileged children and to support local orphanages. Beyond the material collections, this initiative successfully fostered a spirit of community giving and highlighted the importance of social responsibility.
6. Conclusion and Acknowledgments
We express our heartfelt gratitude to the TANAYAS Group for providing us with the platform to host our stall. We also thank all the generous donors and our dedicated volunteers whose hard work made "Donation Drive 2024" a grand success.
