A prototype is an early sample, model, or release of a product built to test a concept or process. Prototyping is an ongoing process in which design teams turn abstract concepts into concrete forms, ranging from paper to digital. Our project entitled A Prototype of Solar Charge Thermometer Scanner and Sanitizer. This project is focusing on the problems of the unnecessary electricity usage in Mukah Polytechnic. The thermometer at JKM Foyer uses a single use battery or rechargeable battery using USB DC 5V to charge which is requiring a direct current from power socket. In addition, the current sanitizer in Mukah Polytechnic must be pressed manually to be used. The design of the current thermometer scanner and also sanitizer were not ergonomics and unstable. In order to solve this problem, we have designed a solar powered thermometer scanner to reduce the cost of unnecessary electricity usage and also a sanitizer that uses infrared sensor to avoid any contact on the sanitizer. We also designed it to be ergonomics and more stable to help the user to use the product easily. In conclusion, the prototype will help to reduce electricity usage and also to reduce the risk of getting infection by Covid-19.
