PRIVACY POLICY — OLDSCHOOL PLAYER

This Privacy Policy applies to OldSchool Player - Retro Music Player ("Application"), a retro-styled music player for playing your own audio files.
SHORT VERSION
OldSchool Player doesn't require an account. The music files you import, your playlist, and your settings are stored locally on your device — nothing is uploaded to us to use the app.
1. WHAT THIS APP DOES
OldSchool Player lets you import your own MP3 files from your device and play them back in a retro-styled interface, with a range of visual themes and playlist customization. Settings and certain features may require unlocking, which can be done by choosing to watch a short rewarded video that unlocks them for 30 minutes.
2. INFORMATION STORED BY THE APP
The following is stored locally on your device so it persists across visits, until you clear it yourself:
The actual MP3 files you import (stored via IndexedDB, on-device)
Your playlist order and track list
Your app settings and theme preferences
The following is kept only in memory while the app is open and is never saved to storage — it resets automatically whenever you close or reload the app:
Whether settings/features are temporarily unlocked (unlocks last 30 minutes after watching an ad)
None of your music files, playlists, or settings are ever sent to us or to any server we operate. Everything — including the audio files themselves — stays on your device.
3. AUTOMATICALLY COLLECTED INFORMATION
Like most web and mobile apps, basic technical information may be collected automatically when you use OldSchool Player, including:
IP address
Device model and operating system
App/browser usage statistics
Crash reports
Date and time of use
Features accessed within the app
OldSchool Player does not collect precise location information and does not access your device's camera or microphone. It only accesses audio files you explicitly choose to import.
4. PERSONAL INFORMATION & ACCOUNTS
OldSchool Player does not require you to create an account, sign in, or provide any personal information to import or play music.
5. THIRD-PARTY SERVICES
OldSchool Player may use third-party services that collect information under their own privacy policies, including:
Google Play Services
Google AdMob
The rewarded-video "Watch Ad to Unlock" flow is served through an ad provider such as AdMob, which may collect information necessary to serve ads, prevent fraud, and measure ad performance.
6. DATA SHARING
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. Information may be disclosed only:
When required by law
To comply with legal obligations
To protect the rights, safety, or property of users or the app provider
To trusted service providers acting on our behalf (e.g. ad or analytics providers)
7. DATA RETENTION
Imported music files, playlists, and settings remain stored on your device until you remove them yourself (via the app's reset/clear option), clear your browser data, or uninstall the app — they are not automatically erased. Unlock status exists only in memory and is lost the moment the app closes or reloads. Automatically collected technical information (Section 3) may be retained only as long as necessary for analytics, security, legal compliance, and service improvement.
8. CHILDREN'S PRIVACY
OldSchool Player is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we discover personal information from a child has been collected, it will be deleted as soon as reasonably possible.
9. SECURITY
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to help protect information handled by the app. No method of electronic storage or internet transmission is completely secure.
10. YOUR CHOICES
You can remove imported tracks or reset all settings and playlists at any time within the app. Clearing your browser's storage or uninstalling the app will remove all imported music, playlists, and settings. You can also stop all data collection by uninstalling the app (on mobile) or simply no longer visiting it (on web).
11. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY
This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. Any changes will be posted here with a revised Effective Date. Continued use of OldSchool Player after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
12. YOUR CONSENT
By using OldSchool Player, you consent to the collection and use of information as described in this Privacy Policy.
