Inpatient SARP Protocol

For AD service member admitted for substance concerns who need SARP follow-up:

#1. To notify SARP 1-2 days prior to discharge.

a. Contact NHCP SARP between the hours of 0700 and 1600 to schedule an outpatient appointment for the patient.

b. Or submit referral via MHS Genesis. (Recommend to f/u with a phone call to SARP). This will ensure the patient will have a screening performed the same day he/she is discharged from the hospital.

#2. Contact the patients’ command SACO/DAPA.

#3. Patient admitted for DETOX (alcohol and/or drugs) and will likely need residential treatment, complete the SHAPES Physical Form, prior to discharge.
