Scholarship Curriculum

Who:

Residents on the Following Rotations:

PGY2: Scholarship (2 weeks)

PGY3: Scholarship (4 weeks)

What:

Protected rotation time to accomplish residency required Scholarly Activity and PI/QI Projects

When:

A 2 week block during the PGY-2 year and a 4 week block during the PGY-3 year. Residents are expected to meet with the Rotation Coordinator either prior to or at the beginning of their rotation.

Where:

Residents are expected to complete all other residency requirements including attendance at Morning Report, Family Medicine clinic, call responsibilities, or any other required duties. Residents may complete their scholarly projects at the Family Medicine clinic or remotely provided they are present for other duties as required.

Why:

We seek to develop future physicians with a knowledge and desire to pursue scholarly activity beyond residency. ACGME requires residents to complete both scholarly activity as well as a QI/PI Project. This rotation gives you the opportunity to pursue scholarly activities that align with your clinical and personal interests.
