Deep Waters
It’s pleasant out here
in bright sunny warmth,
with calm gentle waves
greeting each other.
If we dive down,
below we might find
deep and dark waters,
and cold turbulence,
with unknown life-forms
lurking as threat.
This fearsome unknown,
disturbingy turbulent,
too dark and too deep,
to ponder exploring.
So let’s stay above
in the friendly comfort
of the peaceful surface.
