Resurrection
A mother stood on open ground
pleading white-flag innocence;
the bullet, blind and deaf, did not respond
the one who aimed and triggered it
was far away, knew nothing of
the life about to end.
Another place, another time, as if reborn …
Some children stood on open ground
pleading white-flag innocence;
the bombshell, blind and deaf, did not respond
the one who aimed and let it fall
was far away, knew nothing of
the lives about to end.
Another place, another time, as if reborn …
A young girl stood on open ground
pleading white-flag innocence;
the missile, blind and deaf, did not respond
the one who aimed and fired it
was far away, knew nothing of
the life about to end.
Another place, another time, as if reborn …
So many years to build,
an instant to destroy.
Repeat, repeat, repeat, …
