Our oak trees woke again this year,
released from hibernation’s spell;
reminded by Spring’s loving warmth:
“Time for another ring is near”
As buds leaf out and catkins fall,
we need to sweep because it’s clear
our oak trees woke again this year,
released from hibernation’s spell.
We’re grateful for the cooling shade
and Summer green, but Fall returns;
as acorns drop and leaves detach
we need to rake because it’s clear
our oak trees woke again this year.
