BATESON RULES
1. Matches in the league will be played on Friday afternoons.
n.b . Where special circumstances arise clubs may rearrange between each other by agreement . Postponed matches may be arranged on any other afternoon within one month . However, when the reason is the inability to raise a team then there is only one attempt to re arrange the match on a date suitable to the offended team. If the match is not played, then the offended team will receive 7 points and the offending team nil points. Clubs may only rearrange 3 matches per season.
No re arranged matches may go beyond the date of the last league match.
2. Four rinks are to be played on a Triples basis, each rink to consist of male and female players
3. The lower age limit is to be 55. Prior to commencement of the match , if the two captains agree, a maximum of two players under the minimum age may be permitted to play.
4. Clubs not fielding the full twelve players should forfeit the point for that rink. They will play the rink with the non-offending teams shots recorded in full and the offending teams shots being reduced by one third . When a team is one player short the two players remaining will play 4 woods each and the order of play should be as follows. The visiting team will cast the jack but the team with 3 players will always bowl first.
5 .Matches start at 1.30pm with either two trial ends of two woods, or if the two teams agree they can play 1 shot to count only on the first two ends. Should they not agree the visiting captain chooses.
The visiting team always gets the jack.
6.1 point to be awarded to each winning rink with a further 3 points to the team with the most shots. In the case of a draw the points are shared 3.5 points each.
7 On completion of the League table , if there is a tie situation the winners shall be the club with the highest total of shots “For”
8 The Challenge match:- Winning team v Representatives from all the other clubs will be played on the Friday following the last league match.
9.A player may be invited to make up a rink , by agreement of the captains. Should a team arrive a player short the host team could supply them with a player , who becomes one of their team.
Likewise, should a player be injured they can be replaced by a spare, be it from their own club if the visitor, or the home club without loss of points or adjustments needed.
10 In the case of abandoned matches eg heavy rain .if 12 ends have been completed the result will stand, less than 12 ends the game declared a tie and the points awarded 3.5 each. If a game is cancelled prior to the game due to weather conditions, green unfit for play the game will not be rearranged but the points shared 3.5 each n.b If both teams are present and the weather has deteriorated, then both captains must agree to play or not.
