Elsdon Metcalfe  final

This years event was organised by Glenys Midgley and her team from 

Bedale Bowling club-the finals were played at Bedale for the first time

On behalf of us all we extend our thanks to Glenys and her team for a 

job well done.

There were 52(26 teams)entrants this year a record !

The semi finals were played over 15ends starting at 10 am with 2 teams from

Harrogate.

   John Russell and Ian Brickley against Mark Peatman and Paul Cornwall

                    John and ian won comfortably 21-6

 The second semifinal :-

   Malcolm Hartley and Alan Smith from Thirsk against Sally Scott and David Chapman of Bishop Monkton.

  Malcom and Alan had a much closer game with the Thirsk team wining 12-8

   The Final played over 18ends started off with Malcolm and Alan taking 5shots on the first end.John and Ian soon recovered and gradually got in front and ended in good form with a winning 21-13

   An enjoyable day for spectators and players who saw some high quality

bowls
