3 WOOD PAIRS – 18 ENDS (EBA RULES)

MATCHES TO BE PLAYED ANY MORNING (OR AFTERNOON) TO BE FINISHED BY 4pm

3 dates to be offered by home team

Only open to regular nominated Bateson league players

Any number of teams may enter from each club teams not necessarily to be mixed pairs

Fee £1 per player.

The complete draw follows this report.

                          Finalists                                                                           Winners being presented with the Trophy by the

                                                                                                                Bateson League Chairman, Pauline Beecroft

The semi finals were played out by:

 1. Bill Humphreys and John Kerr of Bishop Monkton against Sally Roocroft and Bruce Dobson of Easingwold.

 Bill and John got off to flying start and Sally and Bruce were always struggling to catch up resulting a

 relatively easy win for the Bishop Monkton pair.

2.The second semifinal between Dave Chapman and Tony Wells of Bedale and Pauline Beecroft and Basil Birchall

 of Bishop Monkton was a very close match with Pauline and Basil winning on the last of 13 ends.

The Final:

 between the two Bishop Monkton pairs went right to the wire with a score of 18 shots each after 18 ends.

Bill and John finally clinched it in the extra end !

Thanks must go to Derek Kirby of Northallerton for the smooth organisation of the event 

as well as Graham White of Thirsk for the use of their green and the refreshments.
