EDP In Depth: Build a Prototype
This week we are focused on what it means to Build a Prototype. Please read the attached document and then answer the questions at the bottom of the document.

Week of May 18
Students will be given your choice of which assignment they would like to complete.
Option 1 - Complete Task 1.5: Research the Problem and complete the questions from the packet on the separate attached Doc
Option 2 - Read Chapter 5: The Art of Engineering and answer the questions at the end of the chapter on the separate attached Doc
Option 3 - Read Chapter 6: Bringing Designed Ideas to the Market and answer the questions at the end of the chapter on the separate attached Doc
Option 4 - Make an outline of how you would plan to conduct research into an idea that really interests you
Week of May 11
EDP - Defining the Problem
This week we will begin diving deeper into the individual stages of the EDP starting with Defining the Problem.
Week of May 4th
This is a physical, “make something” type of challenge that has several parts that will require problem solving and some MacGyver type thinking (using what you have around you to solve a problem). Can you make something that can float 100 pennies without it sinking your design?
Week of April 27
Students will begin the lesson by learning new vocabulary. Students will use the Engineering Design Process to create a walkway paver design, and will answer reflection questions upon completion of the design.
Week of April 13
This week's assignment for all classes is based on Task 1.3 Engineering Drawing which provides students with the background knowledge of how to apply the drawing styles learned in Art class to the act of communicating information visually (without written language).
