Week of June 1

My goal is for students to be able to have the tools they need to know how to self regulate and how to calm themselves when they are feeling stressed or anxious. Students are asked to follow along with the video and share 3 learning reflections from the video.

Week of May 25

This week students will watch a video and observe how they can work major muscle groups by taking their backpack and adding contents to it and performing various exercises. Students are asked to watch the video once through and then grab their backpack and fill it with contents and participate by following along with the video. To show proof of learning, students are asked to submit a photo, video or drawing of themselves demonstrating one the exercises in the video.

Week of May 18

This week we are going to move a little bit away from yoga and focus on moving to music and focus on squats. There are so many ways to stay fit and one way is to get up and move to music. This week's assignment is to first watch the video titled, "Squats for Beginners". After students have watched the video, they are asked to play it back a second time and follow along, so they can practice how to properly squat. Next, they are asked to watch a teacher led video, then modify it and make it their own. They are asked to submit their video as evidence of learning upon completion.

Week of May 11

This week students will be learning/practicing new advanced yoga poses. Students are asked to submit evidence of their learning by completing the worksheet titled, "Yoga Poses #3" and a video or photo of them performing one of the poses.

Week of May 4th

This week students will be learning about various meditation techniques for relaxation and learning/practicing new yoga poses. Students are asked to submit evidence of their learning by completing the two worksheets titled, "Meditation Handout", "Yoga Poses #2" and a video or photo of them performing one of the poses.

Week of April 27

This week students will be learning about the history of yoga, the benefits it provides to our overall health and well-being and practicing introductory yoga poses. Students are asked to submit evidence of their learning by completing the two worksheets titled, "What is Yoga?", "Yoga Poses #1" and a video or photo of them performing one of the poses.

Week of April 13

This week students will be following along with Yoga by Adrien via a YouTube video. She will lead them through a series of yoga poses that will allow students to work on stretching and ultimately increase flexibility. Students will be given 3 different choices to demonstrate their mastery of learning. Students will receive credit for successfully completing the video and turning in their evidence of understanding via either video, drawing or photos. All details will be posted by 8:00 am Tuesday morning in individual teacher's Google Classrooms.

Week of April 6

This week students will be following along with Yoga by Adrien via a YouTube video. She will lead them through a series of yoga poses that will focus on breathing, relaxation, stretching, strengthening and ultimately self-care. Students are asked to complete a google form with questions to be completed before and after the video. All details will be posted by 8:15 in individual teacher's Google Classrooms and students will receive credit for successfully completing the google form and submitting it to their teacher.
