Band/Chorus/Orchestra
Week of 5/25
Orchestra: Students are to listen to the posted professional recording of Vivaldi's Spring, and then submit a written reflection based on what they observed and how it connects to the skills we are developing.
Week of May 18
Orchestra: Students are to select one of the three assignment options for this week. They can either (1) write a reflection and submit a video playing their instrument demonstrating progress towards their goals, (2) select any piece of music and write a reflection on how it relates to skills covered in orchestra class, or (3) research a piece of music for the orchestra to perform next year, writing a reflection on what skills it will help develop.
Band: Band students will fill out and submit the Goals and Planning form posted in Google Classroom. They should then work on their goals by practicing the material they selected this week in preparation for the videos they will record next week.
Week of May 11
Orchestra: Orchestra students are to reflect on the progress they made over the course of Phase 2, and complete/submit the Goal Setting Form for Phase 3 on Google Classroom.
Band: Band students will fill out and submit the Goals and Planning form posted in Google Classroom. They should then work on their goals by practicing the material they selected this week in preparation for the videos they will record next week.
Chorus: Students will work through Module 3 ~ Singing With Expression and review the terminology for dynamic signs in music. Students will complete the vocal exercises on responding to dynamics in music, and complete the assignment by submitting a short video clip that demonstrates their learning.
Week of May 4th
Chorus: Students will complete Module 2 - Understanding Healthy Singing Tone in Chorus. Each student will view the presentation, participate in the vocal exercises and upload a short video to Google Classroom to demonstrate their learning.
Orchestra: Students are to select one of their playing goals from the beginning of April, write a reflection on the progress made towards that goal, and submit a short playing video demonstrating progress towards that goal.
Band: Band students will fill out and submit the Goals and Planning form posted in Google Classroom. They should then work on their goals by practicing the material they selected this week in preparation for the videos they will record next week.
Week of April 27
Orchestra: Orchestra students are to listen to the posted recording of one of the pieces we have been studying in class while following along in their music. Students are to submit a reflection on the strengths of the orchestra in the recording, as well as the areas in need of improvement.
Week of April 13

Do the Singing Practice Assignment for “The Dream Keeper”
Orchestra:
