7th Wellness

Week of May 18

This week students will be pairing movements with rhythms and beats. They will do this by choosing music or a rhythm they find to pair their movement with. Examples include: running to the timing (beat) of a song, dances, or using their choice of equipment to create a beat.

Week of May 11

This week students will practice strategies for calming mind and body when they are experiencing stress or intense thoughts and feelings. Students will be given a choice board of strategies to select from. They are asked to select and try 5 stress reducing activities and complete a google form indicating what they chose and reflect if the strategies were effective.

Week of May 4

The students are to perform an exercise from a given list during a commercial break. They are to do as many repetitions during the break. During the course of the show they are to complete three different exercises during three different breaks. This should be performed three days out of the week and recorded on the given word document. There are also some short answer questions on the document about exercise and health benefits.

Week of April 27

Students will receive an interactive "choice board" with different types of physical activities. They must select 5 of the options and submit their activity log at the end of next week.

Week of April 6

This week students will be working on a portfolio project. Students will be assessing themselves performing a specific motor skill. They will be given a list of skills to choose from or can choose their own with teacher approval beforehand, asked to review the rubric before performing the skill, practice the skill, record themselves doing the skill, assess themselves doing the skill, and add it to their portfolio.
