A Trusted International BIS Certification Consultant

For international companies, India is a high‑growth market—but entering it legally and safely starts with BIS certification. Foreign manufacturers must deal with Indian Standards, local testing, documentation rules, and often factory inspections, all while working across time zones and languages. A trusted international BIS certification consultant like UMSPCS helps you turn this complexity into a clear, manageable process.

What “international BIS consultant” really means

A trusted international BIS consultant is not just a paperwork vendor. It is a specialist that:

• Understands BIS schemes for both Indian and foreign manufacturers (ISI, CRS, FMCS, etc.).

• Knows how to align your existing IEC/EN/UL compliance with Indian Standards.

• Can operate as your local arm in India while you manage strategy from your home country.

For global brands, this means you gain a single, reliable partner who speaks both “international quality language” and “Indian regulatory language.”

Key challenges foreign manufacturers face with BIS

When entering India, overseas companies typically face:

• Confusion over which BIS scheme applies (FMCS, ISI, CRS).

• Difficulty mapping products to the right Indian Standards and categories.

• Practical issues sending samples, coordinating with labs, and responding to queries.

• Uncertainty around timelines, costs, and factory inspection expectations.

A trusted consultant’s job is to remove these unknowns and give you structured clarity from day one.

How UMSPCS supports international BIS projects

UMSPCS positions itself as a trusted international BIS certification consultant for manufacturers and brands planning to sell in India. Here’s how we typically help:

1. Feasibility check and route selection

• Analyse your product range and manufacturing locations.

• Confirm whether BIS is mandatory or recommended for each product line.

• Decide the correct route:

  • FMCS (Foreign Manufacturers Certification Scheme) for ISI‑marked products made outside India.

  • CRS registration for electronics/IT products.

  • Indian‑entity based licences where that makes more sense for your structure.

This avoids wrong applications and sets a realistic roadmap.

2. Standards mapping and technical guidance

• Match your existing certifications (IEC/EN/UL or national standards) with Indian Standards (IS).

• Highlight any technical gaps that may require design or documentation updates.

• Help select “representative models” when you have a large family of similar products.

You get a clear picture of what must be tested, updated, or re‑documented for India.

3. End‑to‑end documentation support

UMSPCS helps you prepare and organize:

• BIS application forms, undertakings, and declarations.

• Factory information: processes, quality control, in‑house testing capabilities.

• Product labels, nameplates, and packaging artwork as per Indian marking rules.

Everything is prepared in the correct format so your team is not stuck trying to interpret local requirements on their own.

4. Coordination with Indian labs and BIS offices

For foreign manufacturers, distance is a big practical barrier. UMSPCS acts as your on‑ground coordinator:

• Recommending suitable BIS‑recognized laboratories based on your product type.

• Coordinating sample dispatch, test scheduling, and clarifications.

• Interacting with BIS officials on status updates, queries, and document submission.

This allows you to run the entire BIS project remotely while still having strong local execution.

5. FMCS factory inspection preparation

If you are applying under FMCS, BIS will inspect your overseas factory. UMSPCS helps you:

• Understand what BIS inspectors will check (calibration, records, test equipment, process controls).

• Conduct a pre‑inspection readiness review and suggest corrective actions.

• Prepare supporting documents and responses for any observations after the visit.

Proper preparation makes the inspection smoother and reduces the risk of delays or negative findings.

6. Licence grant, additions and renewals

Once your BIS licence is granted, the relationship doesn’t end:

• UMSPCS assists in adding new models or variants under the same licence when permissible.

• Tracks renewal dates and surveillance requirements so your licence stays active.

• Supports you whenever standards change or new QCOs (Quality Control Orders) affect your product range.

This turns BIS from a one‑time project into a stable, long‑term compliance framework.

What makes a BIS consultant truly “trusted” internationally

When you evaluate any international BIS consultant, including UMSPCS, focus on:

• Proven experience with foreign manufacturers, not just domestic companies.

• Clear communication, with explanations in simple English and regular progress updates.

• Transparency in fees, separating professional charges from government and lab costs.

• Ability to handle multiple schemes (ISI, CRS, FMCS) and product categories under one roof.

A trusted consultant will never over‑promise “instant approvals” but will give you realistic timelines and work actively to avoid rework and re‑testing.
