Science:
Happy birthday to our summer birthdays James, Fatima and Grace. We crowned and sang to them before practicing our Solar System Song that we will perform next week in class. We completed our Solar System project in class today and learned a mnemonic to help us remember the order from the sun:“My Very Eager Mother Just Served Us Nachos”
Geography:
The students truly shined today. I was so proud to watch them stand confidently before their peers and share their expertise. What is more, they were so joyful about learning and sharing with the class. What a wonderful job they did on their posters and research. We all learned so many fascinating facts about North American countries (many of which we didn't know existed until this month)! Homemade churros, cinnamon chips, tres de leche cake and chocolate delighted our tastebuds. We also collected the passports to display at open house.
IEW:
The internet was down so we weren’t able to watch the memory verse hand motions today, but the link is available on the homework. We collected “favorite activity” drafts and I reminded the class that we are signing yearbooks next week. If your student doesn’t have one, feel free to piece together some pages for students to sign for him/her. Miss Chelsea led the class through the sentence opener #2 and KWO for “Favorite Day”. This is our final IEW assignment and the students will have the opportunity to read it in class next week. As a reminder, we will be signing yearbooks in class next week. Please be sure your students have their yearbook/homemade memory book. See you at Open House!
