Vases

There are many beautiful designs of vases on Thingiverse. Below are some pictures of what we printed.

With LED lights they are beautiful.

These vases have some regular spiral, shapes or patterns. They are likely to be generated by computer programming. The Honeycomb vase above is programmed in OpenSCAD. However, the codes for the hexagonal honeycomb are rather complex, perhaps suitable for Tertiary or professional programmers.

Madeup.xyz is another 3D modelling (for 3D printing) tool. I was privileged to know the author Dr Christopher Johnson and learnt a little about it. Below are two simple programs I wrote to create two vases.

After exporting STL files, the 3D printed vases are quite satisfactory.

Madeup.xyz is really an excellent tool for 3D modelling, printing and coding. What do you think?
