Turei 25 Maehe 2025
Talofa lava,
Movin' March is almost at the end, but that doesn't mean you have to stop coming to school in an active way. We are building up to Cross Country for next term, so the more active you are the easier the cross country is. The date will be set for this before the end of term, but it will be between the 5th and the 9th of May. The Eastern Zones Cross Country is on 12th May.
Next week are the scheduled Learning Conversations. Please make sure you have booked these through HERO. The Learning Conversations are a time for your tamaiti to share their learning with you, for you to discuss their learning with them and kaiako, and to understand where they are at in their learning. The timeslots are 30 mins. You are welcome to be there for the whole 30 mins or just part of it. More than one whānau will be in attendance in many of the timeslots, so if you would like to see kaiako separately, please book another time after these dates. If you haven't been able to book a time kaiako will contact you before Monday to see if they can support you.
Some te reo Māori for you ... here are some words that describe feeling: pōuri -sad; mene - smile; harikoa - happy, rangirua - confused; ora - well, mataku wehi - scared; tioro - scream;, ohorere - suprised; kuha- gasp; āmaimai - nervous; pukutākaro - playful. Kei te pēhea koe? - How are you?; Kei te ora au - I am well.
Newsletters are sent out in weeks 2, 4, 6, 8 and 10 each term. There is a lot more information on HERO from kaiako for you too. If you are not seeing more information on HERO, please let us know and we will try to fix that for you.
We are keeping track of absences, as required by the Ministry of Education. If your child is sick please let the office know through HERO or a phone call. If you are going to be away please do the same procedure but let us know why, this helps us to make sure the correct information os being sent. It is important that tamariki are at school every day we are open.
Congratulations to Paddy who won Gold at Interclub Wellington Championship in High Jump recently. Paddy has show over the years that he has great skill sat high jump. He shows hiranga in his attitude toward high jump, practicing consistently, it has paid off. Ka rawe Paddy.

In term 2 our W.A.T.P hui (Waihangatia ngā Ākonga Tino Pai - Building the Best Learners Hui), has a focus of dance. This will be in the form of a dance festival. This will be on 14th May and first session will be in school time at 2 pm. We want to make sure as many of you as possible can make it, so please fill in the HERO form by tomorrow at 3 pm, to show us what evening time is best for your whānau.
