Where legends are born, they also eventually die. Toward the end of the Great Age of Pirates, Monkey D. Luffy found and obtained the One Piece and became King of the Pirates. It was at this time that the Revolutionary Army succeeded in reforming the World Government and stamped out corruption. The World Government was divided into two factions. Those who were Celestial Dragons and other influential figures, and those who had been instated by the Revolutionary Army to represent equal authority. This would continue for the next thirty years, with most of that time being heated discussion over how things should be managed internally. In those thirty years, the Levely saw more argument amongst the affiliated kingdoms because of the instability of the World Government.
It was because of this instability that many nations conspired against one another and dropped out from the World Government and broke their allegiances. The World Nobles who were viewed as weaker because of the new power vacuum that existed could do nothing but wait and watch everything fall into chaos. Monkey D. Luffy would fall ill shortly after these events and pass away, with the scattering of the Straw Hat Pirates and the Grand Fleet. This marked the Great Age of Warring, where nations collapsed and others grew exponentially.
The World Nobles slowly but surely trained new Cipher Pol agents in secret. The Revolutionary Army's representatives viewed the Celestial Dragons as incapable and lacking in many departments, becoming conceited and drawn into the madness of the Great Age of Warring. By the time the Revolutionary Army had picked up on the training of Cipher Pol units, they were quickly being assassinated and stamped out by those who had always been at the very top of this world.
With the Revolutionary Army mostly plucked out from the World Government, the authoritarian state of the government quickly became harsher, leading to the death of the Great Age of Warring and the birth of a new age that would forever be remembered as the greatest era in a thousand years.
The Great Age of Lords is a period that started thirty years after Luffy became King of the Pirates. In the passing of time, the World Government grew stronger than ever. Celestial Dragons who were anxious about being overthrown once more heightened the training of Cipher Pol agents to a new degree and opened their personal coffers to bolster the strength of the Marines organization that sought to protect the World Government.
This led to heated friction between the kingdoms that had outright abandoned the World Government and the World Government itself. Lots of blood was spilled and new lords were instated. Some became powerful and influential, while others became devious and cunning. It was a world where only the strongest could survive.
In the seventy years that have transpired since Monkey D. Luffy's death, the world has drastically changed. Through the words of a wise teller, Morby Dwight, the One Piece was once again out there in the Grand Line. Luffy had found the One Piece, but whatever it had been, had possibly been left on that island.
The mystery of Gold Roger's treasure still left the world transfixed on adventure. Rumors spread about the legendary pirate "Soul King" Brook, claiming that the One Piece was still out there before he mysteriously disappeared ten years ago. Brooke was the last Straw Hat to disappear or pass and his rumored words left the world in turmoil. A turmoil that inspired the Great Age of Lords to sail the seas and claim the fate of the world in finality.
The World Government reinstated the Shichibukai system after seeing the independent power of islands growing against them, this new age of piracy was also leaving the Celestial Dragons in fear of what was to come. The last Great Age of Pirates had nearly destroyed the world as they knew it. Now that these new kings of the sea were here, the name Lord ushered across the sea.
The Lords of Blue have taken the world by storm. Things are about to change once more in this beautiful age of wonder and discovery.
