The GM Train System utilizes teams of Game Masters who plan, connect, and drive players to new locations in the story. It is called a “Train” because the system is designed to funnel new and existing players further into East Blue and into the Grand Line.
GMs, and thereabout GM Teams, are not service agents to the roleplayers but operate as benefactors of their own design. Just because someone needs a Game Master doesn’t entitle them to one. Game Masters have the right to willingly choose their players and the islands they wish to host their next event on.
GMs can be "hired" for personalized arcs and events using Rank Fragments.
Game Masters are expected to uphold story continuity, story integrity, and player fairness. These are individuals who understand that there isn’t always an exchange at hand and must find value in the story itself. These are individuals who are dedicated to being reliable with longevity in mind. They are people who are in cohorts with the staff and the player, and they are the cogs that enable the server to operate.
It would be especially jarring to see a Game Master who shows a lack of drive, urgency, and integrity for the story and the players within that story. An idle Game Master is not a Game Master at all. We call those “clout-chasers”—people who have acted a certain way to “pepper” their appearance on the server. These people will be the ruin of a perfectly functioning system and will be dealt with accordingly.
The responsibilities of a Game Master should not be underestimated in the slightest. Failing to understand that at the most basic level will result in painful realization. If you are the person who only writes for character rewards and wants to utilize the GM system as a way to profit, turn back now. The GM Train System is built on the idea of mutual cooperation, communication, and dedication to the craft of writing.
To become a Game Master, you are expected to meet the following requirements:
Trusted by the staff team and the GM team.
Show good indication of longevity and persistence.
Capable of communicating throughout the event to provide an accurate and healthy story continuity.
Have the basic understanding that writing long posts doesn’t immediately make you qualified as a Game Master, as there are many more important qualities in a person than how long their posts are.
