My Why: I struggled deeply during my middle school and high school years. Growing up I had experienced trauma and mobility that impacted every area of my life, including my academic pursuits. In high school I had one teacher, Mrs. Juneau, who would let me cry in her class without questions. She would hug me, give me privacy and allow me to let it all out in her safe space. I would wait all day to get to her classroom where I felt safe and loved. As an educator, I feel the responsibility and the privilege to provide this same safe space for my students and their families. There is no greater blessing than the opportunity to nurture the minds, bodies and souls of those precious students that are left in our care.
Welcome to my e-portfolio, a space where I will share my philosophy of education, my personal development, reviews of important literature, and a peek into my classroom.
I am passionate about Career and Technology pathways, special populations, and behavior intervention. I am an advocate for public education and finding career pathways for students that meet their interests and unique set of skills. I am an educator, a mother, a wife, a mentor, and most of all a follower of Christ.
"A man's mind, stretched by new ideas, may never return to its original dimensions."

Mission Statement:
Educating learners of all ages and demographics in a safe and nurturing environment, challenging each student to actively participate in the learning process, and acknowledging that the term learner is a life long endeavor.
Vision Statement:
Impacting the local and global community by means of preparing all learners to become deep thinkers, active critical problem solvers, and innovators in their chosen craft. By this effort, we will encourage a new generation of learners to actively pursue a growth mindset and set the standard for achieving and exceeding expectations and break through all boundaries in their professional and personal lives.
Core Values:
I believe in setting high expectations for all students in the areas of personal, professional, and academic growth. I believe that technology and artificial intelligence are tools of innovation that should be used wisely and appropriately. Finally, I believe that each student should show mastery in a differentiated and personalized process based on skills, needs and learning style, and that educators should assess not only the product created but the process by which it was made.
