I have been an passionate ambassador and advocate for public education since 2011. I graduated from Baylor University with a Bachelor's degree in Science with a focus in Family and Consumer Sciences. My specialization is in Child and Family Studies, and I have worked with children and their families for over fifteen years. I am enrolled currently at Abilene Christian University pursuing my Master's of Education in Instruction and Learning. I hope to have completed my Master's degree in the Spring of 2027.
I began my career in public education in Houston, TX teaching in Klein Independent School District at the middle school level, in both the functional academics classroom and in Career and Technology. The majority of my time in Klein ISD was spent teaching a high school credit course in 8th grade called Principles of Human Services. In 2023 I moved north of the Dallas area and began teaching in Prosper ISD at Prosper High School. My focus remains in Career and Technology. At Prosper High School, I have taught Advanced and Practicum Culinary Arts to students in 11th and 12th grade, and will transition to teaching Fashion Design 1 & 2, Practicum in Fashion Design, and Principles of Hospitality and Tourism. Additionally, I serve as the Department Head for Career and Technology at Prosper High School.
I have a large family with a wonderful husband, Travis, my son Edwin (15) and six step-children: Raeghan (21), Hayden (18), Gavyn (18), Paisley (16), Brecken (15), and Giana (13).
