Mantella madagascariensis, common names Malagasy painted mantella, Madagascan mantella, Madagascar golden frog, Malagasy mantella and painted mantella, is a species of frog in the family Mantellidae. They are microphagous, and specialize in eating small insects. In the wild they prey on ants, termites, mites and the like. Very small, painted mantella frogs are about 1 inch (2.5 centimeters) long. Painted mantella frogs are endemic to central-eastern Madagascar, where it occurs in a highly restricted area at elevations over 900 meters. They live in sunny areas of pandanus forests.
