As a requirement for completing the PDPI Program, I created an "Options Chart" that can be used by English teachers as a tool to assess students' understanding of how professions and jobs are formed, encourage them to reflect on future careers, and improve their vocabulary related to this specific subject.
Understanding vocational vocabulary is crucial for students' development, autonomy, integration of language skills, development of reading, writing, listening comprehension, vocabulary, and grammar, and encourages critical and creative thinking, allowing them to select activities they find relevant and enjoyable.
This Options Chart was developed for middle school students. My school is located in an urban area of the state of Pernambuco, Brazil. Classes are held twice a week, lasting 50 minutes each. The class has approximately 30 to 35 students. They are adolescents between the ages of 11 and 14, and have language levels A1 and A2.
