Introduction
For the PDPI Final Project, I have created a choice board on the topic of the Importance of taking care of mental health that is going to be developed in 6 consecutives lessons. This theme was chosen, because it’s important for students to reflect about how mental health influences all aspects of life, including the physical, emotional, and social aspects. Good mental health helps you deal with adversity more effectively. Emotional balance facilitates building healthy relationships, assertive communication, concentration, decision-making, and the ability to perform daily tasks, both at work and at school. When students are in good mental health, they feel more motivated and engaged in their studies, making it easier to set and achieve goals. The essential question to think about this choice board is “How does take care of my mental health directly affect my learning process?”
These choices are designed to include diverse learning preferences, such as kinesthetic, auditory and visual learners, and students can choose to work by themselves or in pairs. These lessons were developed for high school (grade:1st/ 14-16 years old) performing at a beginner or A2 English proficiency level. EFL classes meet two times a week for 50 minutes at a time and class sizes are approximately 30-35 students.
