The Choice Board created for the Black Awareness Day activity serves as a powerful tool to celebrate and embrace diversity in the classroom. By centering the content around Black historical figures and civil rights icons such as Zumbi dos Palmares, Rosa Parks, Martin Luther King Jr., and Nelson Mandela, the board fosters cultural awareness, critical thinking, and empathy. It invites students to reflect on significant contributions made by Black individuals throughout history and understand the ongoing importance of racial equity and social justice. Activities like writing biographies, timelines, and engaging in role-play encourage deeper personal connections to the subject matter, promoting inclusivity and a more equitable classroom environment.

Additionally, the variety of tasks in the board—ranging from creative writing and video narration to interviews and music analysis—addresses diverse learning styles and abilities.
