The United Nations is very big, controlled as an international body by politics, and each of its various agencies develops a life of its own.

The United Nations Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues is completely out of control, as we saw when an investigator came to New Zealand.

THE UNIVERSAL DECLARATION OF HUMAN RIGHTS, A DECLARATION adopted by the United Nations General Assembly on 10 December 1948, is straightforward and says we are all 100% equal.

Article 1. All human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights.

Article 2. Everyone is entitled to all the rights and freedoms set forth in this Declaration, without distinction of any kind, such as race, colour, sex, language, religion, political or other opinion, national or social origin, property, birth or other status.

However THE EQUALITY OF THE DECLARATION ON THE RIGHTS OF INDIGENOUS PEOPLES is very different, straight out of Orwell’s Animal farm: “All animals are equal but some animals are more equal than others.” There are additional rights to ‘indigenous People’ that divide us into two unequal groups. This is why Labour under Helen Clark refused to agree to that declaration; John Key has done so at the behest of the racist Maori Party, to get the votes in Parliament.

Article 4. Indigenous peoples, in exercising their right to self-determination, have the right to autonomy or self-government in matters relating to their internal and local affairs, as well as ways and means for financing their autonomous functions.

Article 5. Indigenous peoples have the right to maintain and strengthen their distinct political, legal, economic, social and cultural institutions, while retaining their right to participate fully, if they so choose, in the political, economic, social and cultural life of the State.

NOTE the allowance for distinct political and legal institutions, SO ALL ARE NO LONGER EQUAL CITIZENS IN ONE UNITED COUNTRY. The DEFINITION OF INDIGENOUS IS SO VAGUE that you could drive a bus through it; it means what they want it to mean (so we get into Through the looking glass territory).
