Students find their own social media profiles and analyse the content they shared. They consider which aspects of their life they choose to share on the web and how they manage/edit their online characters in comparisons with their true self.
For students focus on social media use, online safety, and how they want to be seen. For adults include professional online identity, reputation, and digital boundaries. For low-tech settings reflect from memory instead of live device use.
After completing the digital footprint analysis, invite participants to take a quiet moment to reflect on what they discovered about their online presence and habits. Ask them to consider how their digital actions align with their values and self-image.
This activity encourages students to critically examine their own social media profiles and reflect on the choices they make about what to share online. By comparing their digital presence with their authentic selves, students gain insight into self-presentation, privacy, and identity management. It fosters awareness of how online behavior shapes perceptions, helping them develop more mindful and intentional use of social media.
Use social media according to the appropriate age limit.
