Participants in the activity are tasked with, in the most creative way possible, dedicating their kind words, compliments, giving nice thoughts, hugs, genuine smiles, etc., to at least someone at school.
Reflection:
Within the classrooms, the next day they can briefly discuss what methods they chose, how they felt when sharing kind words, how they felt when receiving them, how they felt when they saw reactions, what reactions they received, etc. Did they like the day? Would they repeat it?
For younger children, provide sentence starters like “I like when you…” or “You are good at…”. For shy or nonverbal participants, allow written notes, drawings, or symbols. In virtual settings, use message boards, private chats, or digital sticky notes. For multilingual groups, encourage kind words in different languages with translations.
After sharing kind words, invite participants to reflect on how it felt to give and receive kindness. Create space for silent journaling, drawing, or group discussion, focusing on emotional responses and the power of words.
