2nd Week of December
A YouTuber called "Miz Kim" recently appeared often on the recommendations. She is a 21-year-old girl who is in love with the 2000s. She introduces vintage fashion styles that were on trend in Korea during 2000~2010 and uses memes that were popular back then. This has attracted many viewers who have actually spent their childhood around early 2000s. She now has 27k subscribers, and her most popular video, which is the second video, has gained 200k views so far.
As Su-neung, which is Korean SAT, was held last Thursday, many videos related to Su-neung were popular this week. Before the exam, videos that introduce precautions and tips on the exam were popular. One famous YouTuber called "미미미누(Mimiminu)" gained a lot of views with two videos about preparing for Su-neung. He is famous for getting accepted to Korea University, one of the renowned universities in Korea, after taking Su-neung five times. He is called as "the master of Su-neung", and always releases contents related to this exam around October~November.
Another interesting contents about Su-neung was about students sharing their exam results. Students who took the exam this year would make a video of themselves rating the score and see whether they've done well or not. These types of videos gained a lot of views, from 100k to 320k. Although Su-neung was held every year for a very long time, this type of live-rating video is very new.
On December 5, the main ceremony of the Melon Music Awards 2020 (MMA 2020) took place without a face-to-face audience due to COVID-19 restrictions. It was also broadcast live online.

Hot Trend: “Mister Trot” Top 6
It’s nearing the holidays, and boy, do I love the cycle of outfits that we see during this season. If you find yourself circling from comfy knits to glamorous and sparkly dresses, you aren’t the only one! With the chillier weather inching in, it becomes more important than ever to layer up and stay warm. That’s not to say you should be completely buried under baggy layers, since after all, holiday parties are the time to shine bright! If you find yourself needing some winter style inspiration, here are six looks from K-dramas that will surely get you looking chic this season!
#1 Cozy #Cottagecore
The #cottagecore aesthetic represents an idealized lifestyle of slow-living. You’ve most likely seen this translated into fashion through whimsical prairie dresses and gingham prints. Paying tribute to the more rural elements of modern society has also been one of the biggest trends this year and it ain’t too late to jump on the bandwagon if you haven’t yet! Seo Dal Mi (Suzy) executes this perfectly in tvN’s “Start-Up” with a peasant-style blouse layered under a grey midi dress. The look is professional, stylish, and comfy (bonus points for layering up too!).
#2 Power Pantsuits
Seo Dal Mi’s sister, Won In Jae (Kang Han Na), might be a tough character to like but there’s no denying her work outfits are always a scene-stealer! In Jae’s a certified power woman in the workplace and she’s definitely got a wardrobe to match with strong statement pieces and tailored pantsuits. One of my favorites would have to be the set she wears as a presenter in a lecture. The clean lines and put-together look definitely helps In Jae to project a confident and successful image.
#3 The Sweater Vest
Grandfather-style sweater vests are the style trend that I never saw coming, oh how the tables have turned! Whether styled over a plain tee or a thicker under layer, the sweater vests work as long as there is a juxtaposition between the vest and the layer beneath in the collar and the sleeve lengths. Han Ae Ri (Lee Se Young) from MBC’s “Kairos” showcases a neutral-toned sweater vest over a simple tee for a comfy and trendy fit. It’s a pretty neat (and super cozy!) trend to adopt for winter.
#4 Animal Prints
Every year when fall and winter swing around town, animal prints start taking over wardrobes once more, and this year is no exception. For a fun and quirky spin to the classic animal print, try going for a colorful variation like An Jeong Ha’s (Park So Dam) style from “Record of Youth.”
#5 Balloon Sleeves
These have been a staple this year – huge, billowy sleeves that give an ethereal feel to any outfit it is paired in. Take a note out of “Birthcare Center” character Lee Roo Da’s (Choi Ri) book and match it with some leather bottoms for added edge!
#6 The Leather Blazer
In keeping with the overall mood of relaxed comfort, leather blazers and outerwear are back in a big way this season. Not only do they lend a touch of cool rocker chic vibe, they are also highly functional during winter. Check out how EXID’s Hani styled up a leather bomber in “The Spies Who Loved Me” to portray a cool, genius hacker!

The Trump administration has once again extended the deadline for ByteDance to sell video sharing platform TikTok’s business in the US, Reuters reported. The Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS) has given China-based ByteDance until December 4th to either sell or spin out its US business, according to a court filing. CFIUS reportedly granted the extension “to allow time to review a revised submission” that it recently received.
President Trump said in August that TikTok and its parent company were a national security risk to the US, and issued the initial order requiring TikTok to sell its US business. Trump’s order would have blocked all US transactions with ByteDance.
In September, the US Commerce Department issued an order to block downloads of TikTok in the US. The president then said he had approved “in concept” a deal with Oracle and Walmart that called for creating a new US-based entity, TikTok Global.
That deal has yet to receive final approval, however, and TikTok said earlier this month it had received “no substantive feedback” from the Trump administration for some time. The government then issued a notice November 13th that set the new deadline for the deal for November 27th.
However, the government is still bound by an injunction issued by a federal court in Pennsylvania on October 30th. The Commerce Department issued an unpublished rule saying the agency is complying with the terms of that judge’s ruling. Its prohibition of TikTok transactions “has been enjoined and will not go into effect, pending further legal developments.”
TikTok did not immediately reply to a request for comment Saturday.
