Jackie Aina, a leading black beauty creator with 3 million subscribers, did a makeup tutorial that consisted only of Africa-owned makeup brands. In this nearly half an hour video, Jackie introduced eight cosmetic brands, and all the purchase links were on the description box. Although the content includes advertisements, there were many comments saying that the purpose of the video was good. Many expressed gratitude to Jackie for being an honest YouTuber, as the cosmetics brands in the video were really founded by Africans, unlike other YouTubers who just mentioned 'African-owned makeup' or 'African makeup' during the Black Lives Matter movement without any real connection to the race and their culture. It was a content that maximized Jackie Aina's strength, which is honesty and sincerity.

This week on YouTube Korea, pet videos received much love. In particular, videos from channels "크집사(Ku-Jibsa)," "Arirang은 고양이들내가주인," "[THE SOY]루퐁이네" and "SBS TV Animal Farm x Animal-bwa" have been on the trending videos list for few days. Most of the videos wer about daily lives of cute cats and dogs, and there were only positive comments on the comment section. One thing to note, however, was that many viewers (especially foreign viewers) left critical comments about the meerkat video(the fourth video). When the video showed the owner being tired of his meerkat making a mess, many viewers actually criticized the owner, saying, "It's because the meerkat is stressed out to be living in a small how with his wild instinct suppressed." Moreover, it was also criticized for the cat that appeared together in the video was a Sphinx and Munchkin mix. Sphinx and Munchkin are cat breeds popular for their unique and cute looks but many of them carry hereditary disease as they are forced to be inbred by humans. Not only the Cat Fanciers' Association(CFA), but also various cat organizations do not recommend the sale and forced breeding of these two species. However, the criticism is getting more and more serious for raising both a meerkat and a cat. In addition to the video's comments, it is not difficult to see the viewers fighting on the comment section of the couple's YouTube channel "Timon and Pumba."

야생마TV(Wild Horse TV), which has a very thick fan base with its workout content, car reviews and self-made story of a poor man, has been suspected of manipulating and fabricating videos. Few weeks ago, he posted a video of his Tesla being discharged and suddenly pulling over in the middle of the road. Then, he showed the process of calling a towing company dedicated to luxury cars to solve the problem. A few days later, however, a channel called "전국진TV - 주작 감별사" suggested that the video appeared to be manipulated with several evidence. Wild Horse TV admitted in just one day that the Tesla video was fabricated and posted an apology video. Personally, however, the first apology video (which is deleted right now) did not show much signs of remorse nor did he address the accurate situation on how the video was manipulated. What was more interesting was, right after the first apology video, he uploaded a ramen mukbang with the title "I will be different." It was shocking to learn that he uploaded a ramen mukbang as the second apology video. In the comment section, subscribers of "Wild Horse TV" explained that ramen mukbang means a lot to him, as he never eats ramen because he cares about his body so much. Some added that "He is making the most sincere apology in his own way by eating ramen." Only then I could understand what the Wild Horse TV's intention was. However, this doesn't mean that I could relate or sympathize to it. Opinions were also divided on this issue, with comments advocating the act of wild horse TV, saying that they accept his sincere apology as an long-time fan, while many others are criticizing that such a stupid video is not right for the current situation. In addition, controversy over Wild Horse TV's imprudent posts that were sponsored, promoting fitness centers, chicken breasts, cars, clothing to even mobile phone stores has been under fire.

With "Physical Gallery"'s new content "A Fake Man" gaining huge popularity, each episode released has topped YouTube Korea's trending videos list. Other videos and channels on which the cast appeared are also seeing this effect. "A Fake Man" is a content in which six YouTubers/Twitch streamers/Africa BJs experience the training process of special forces like the UDT/SEAL in Korea and NAVY SEAL in the US. This was actually conducted under the supervision of Multi UDT/SEAL Assaulting Tactics(MUSAT), which is a company in charge of security and tactical consulting of various special forces. Participants were Quaddurup, Gong Hyuk-joon, Gabriel, Basick, Ttakyu and Kim Jae-won. The training was led by actual instructors who teach the special forces so the degree of training was very high. Although Gong Hyuk-joon was severely criticized for his idle attitude in training and his specific remarks on this content, most of the other cast members are receiving positive attention. The first episode of "A Fake Man" reached 5M views, with every participant's channel experiencing a sharp increase in subscribers. In particular, "Mission Possible," a channel featuring Agent H, one of the instructors, had 90k subscribers on July 9 but it achieved 320k subscribers as of July 23, when the fourth episode was released. This showed a 232% increase in subscribers. The series has also derived many famous lines and memes, such as "Do you have a personality problem?" and "(Person's name) supports individualism," the words that instructors used to scold trainees. The popularity of the series is expected to last quite a while, as there are more episodes to come and also reaction videos of the parcitipants. Thanks to the popularity and YouTube algorithm, past videos from random channels featuring the instructors are also appearing on the recommendations tab. Related videos are listed below.

A video clip titled "Playing Meteo with a Calculator" just randomly appeared on the recommended feed. It seemed interesting and the channel had some unique content such as covers of a song with a sound calculator. The channel itself has been active for quite a long time but it seemed to have grown rapidly in recent weeks, given that recent videos have surpassed million views. The comments were also relatively very recent. The reason for this rapid growth was that in the "[SNL] Saturday Night LCK #Ep.3" of the LCK channel on July 19, the DRX team player "Doran" mentioned that he recently enjoy watching videos of "차커 Chaco". Since then, Doran's fans have searched and searched for the video, and it is expected that it has started to be exposed more due to the influence of algorithm. In fact, the change in the number of subscribers on this channel shows a significant increase in recent days.

Twitch viewership has been way up since the pandemic started. Viewership grew to 5 billion hours watched between April and June, which is a huge increase no matter how you look at it: it’s up more than 50 percent from the first quarter of 2020, and it’s up more than 60 percent over the same three months in 2019. The metrics come from the latest streaming industry report by StreamElements and Arsenal.gg.
Last quarter’s report hinted that this increase was coming. In May, the companies reported a 45 percent leap in viewership for the whole live-streaming industry between just March and April. But this latest report shows that those large gains were sustained in the following months, even as people started having more flexibility to go outside and had a lot more to pay attention to in the world.
Facebook Gaming saw an even larger increase than Twitch, though it remains a much smaller service overall. Viewership was up 75 percent quarter over quarter and 200 percent year over year. It’s still about a fifth the size of Twitch in terms of overall hours watched, though. It’s possible viewership will increase even more next quarter, with Mixer shutting down and directing streamers and viewers over to Facebook.
One other sign that Twitch has become a respite during the pandemic: StreamElements points out that the service’s “Travel & Outdoors” category close to tripled in terms of hours watched in June compared to January.
