July 2026
Greetings,
Summer is here! July brings Independence Day celebrations, the Wabash County 4-H Fair, and the kind of humidity that makes it feel like you're walking through soup.
After a wet June, corn and soybean crops are thriving. Hopefully, we'll continue to receive timely rainfall as we endure the summer heat that arrived at the start of the month.
Our community gardens are also flourishing thanks to the dedication of our wonderful volunteers. With their continued care, the gardens are on track for an abundant harvest this season.
If you have any questions about upcoming programming or Ag questions in general, please reach out to the Extension Office. Phone: 260-563-0661 (Ext 1408) or by emailing me directly at gschortg@purdue.edu. For in person meetings I would suggest setting up a time as I am not in the office as much with programming and trainings.
Best Wishes,
Geoff Schortgen
