The board produces a strategic plan with detailed information about:
our strategic goals for meeting our objectives
how our strategic goals have been prioritised
our strategies for achieving or making progress towards our strategic goals based on the identities, needs, and aspirations of our community,
our strategies for seeking to achieve equitable outcomes for Māori
taking all reasonable steps to provide for learners to be taught and to learn in te reo Māori when requested by their parents or immediate caregivers
taking reasonable steps to ensure that the policies and practices for our school reflect our cultural diversity
The data will also show the numbers and proportions of students at, above, below, and well below expectation, including by Māori, Pasifika, and gender (where this this does not breach an individual’s privacy), and students' progress over time.
the measures, evidence, and processes the board intends to use to evaluate our progress towards achieving our strategic goals.
Our annual implementation plan sets out how the board intends to implement our strategic plan. It includes information about:
our previous year’s performance and how we will address any unachieved targets from the previous year
our annual targets for each strategic goal and actions to meet these
our allocation of resources
our measures and evidence to evaluate progress
our teaching and learning strategies and programmes, with a particular emphasis on literacy and numeracy
We publish our annual implementation plan online by 31 March each year.
Our annual report provides key performance information and includes detailed information about:
our finances and funding
our statement of variance, outlining the impact of the actions taken, reasons for any differences between targets and performance, and how these will inform the next year's planning
the progress and achievement of learners
compliance with our employment policies
Annual financial statements submitted to the auditor by 31 March each year, annual report (including audited financial statements) submitted to the Ministry of Education by 31 May each year and published online as soon as practicable.
The school formally reports to parents in plain language in a variety of ways, including:
a 'Meet the Teacher' time in term 1, as appropriate
sending a written report home at the end of terms 2 and 4. The report is a summary of student achievement, especially in numeracy and literacy, and the Gorge Road values.
holding 3-way learning conferences and goal-setting following term 2 reporting
Parents and teachers will make contact as soon as practicable about learning or behaviour issues &/or successes. This contact may be in person, by phone or email or other appropriate methods.
Giving priority to reporting in Literacy and Numeracy, the principal will regularly report to the BOT to identify students who-
are not achieving at cohort level (either above or below)
are at risk of not achieving
have special needs or special abilities
The principal will analyse the data for Maori (& Pasifika) students, and for gender, looking for trends and patterns.
This will only be possible when this does not identify individual students.
The reporting will identify strengths/ weaknesses in curriculum delivery, and next steps for Teachers, pupils and Board
This could involve purchase of resources, investment in Professional Development, additional staffing...
