Guidelines for code of conduct expectations for all people
on Gorge Road School property or at school events.
These guidelines serve as a reminder of expectations for everyone, so Gorge Road School can continue to flourish, progress and achieve
in an atmosphere of mutual understanding and respect.
The school expects everyone to:
Understand that we need to work together for the benefit of all children.
Treat all members of the school community with respect.
Understand that even if there is conflict everyone must remain calm and respectful.
Turn off cell phones and listen quietly during children’s performances.
Correct their own child’s behaviour, at school events eg pet day, sports & school trips.
Bring concerns directly to the school to be discussed.
In order to support a peaceful and safe environment the school will not tolerate the following behaviours on school property or at school events:
Disruptive, abusive, offensive and/or threatening behaviour or language.
Abusive, offensive and/or threatening text/ phone messages or written comments including those on social media sites.
Deliberate damaging of property.
Smoking, vaping, or consumption of drugs.
Consumption of alcohol while the school is open for instruction, or at any time during school events- eg trips, camps, pet days.
Bringing animals onto school grounds, except for specific school events when prior permission has been obtained, eg pet day.
Failure to follow the expectations will result in a warning being given, and the person/ persons concerned may be asked to leave.
If a serious behaviour breach occurs the police will be called and a trespass order may result.
