All plant is inspected regularly.

Machinery

The caretaker is responsible for the storage and maintenance of all machinery.

• Machinery is stored securely. Children are not permitted in the machinery storage area.

• The caretaker keeps all machinery clean and well maintained, and notifies principal of repairs immediately.

Machinery is used appropriately.

• Only the caretaker or designated adults may use machinery. Children are not permitted to use any machinery.

• The appropriate safety equipment is stored with the machinery and must be used or worn by the operator. This includes ear protection, safety glasses, gloves, and footwear.

• Machinery is used appropriately for its intended purpose. The times and places machinery is used is monitored to avoid endangering the children.

Storage and Use of Hazardous Substances

• The caretaker and other staff use safe practices when storing or using inflammable or hazardous substances.

• Cleaners and other staff follow safe practices when using and storing hazardous substances such as bleach and other cleaning chemicals. They always read the label before use and follow the safety instructions.

• All inflammable substances, such as petrol, paint, and cleaners, are stored securely and in their original containers.

• Children have no access to hazardous substances.
