Hello again!

This week we'll be going to Starfall.com. If you've never visited this website before, it's a great resource for reading and counting skill that can be used through several of the early school years.

1. Go to STARFALL.COM

2. Click on the "Kindergarten and Pre-K" button

3. At the top-middle of the screen there should be a cartoon picture of a child. It's between the ABC blocks and the crayons. This is the "All About Me" activity. Click on that picture to start the activity.

4. Help you child navigate through the different sections of the activity. These include "Who Am I?", "Where do I Sleep?" What is My Pet?" etc. Your student can choose all kinds of different options whether they are silly or sincere. The object is to help your child with the words that appear on the screen. If you click on the words, the page will also help with the reading.

5. Please make sure you help your student sound out the words on the page. This is a fantastic reading exercise that really holds the interest of children! You can practice with this page for 25 minutes one day this week and then let them pick another page later on this week for an additional 25 minutes.
