Kindergarten

Week 2

4/5 - 4/12

Hello again everyone! Hopefully everybody is dealing well with the continuing situation and you are all healthy, happy and not suffering from cabin fever to a terrible extent.

I will be making a website for the Technology classes this upcoming week so that elementary teachers can simply link to it from their class page and we can avoid flooding you all with multiple emails. If you would prefer to receive an email instead, please let me know!

This week we will focus on a bit more practice with the mouse. I’ll always try to use websites for the kids that are free to use but unfortunately this sometimes means that we have to deal with seeing advertisements. To avoid this issue, I recommend downloading an adblocker such as ADBLOCK.

This next website is a fun resource for you children that has a multitude of games and reading activities. You and your student can visit it two times over the week for 20-30 minute intervals.

1. Please go to www.funbrain.com

2. At the top of the page click on the link that says “playground”.

It will pull up a page with several cartoon characters on it. Each one of those characters is a link to a different game. The kids should be familiar with this website since we have visited it before.

3. After playing a game an ad may pop up in the middle of the screen. Please show your student that the proper thing to do after finishing their game is to NOT click on the ad but to instead click on the button that says “close” in the top-right on the screen.

4. If your child wants to explore more activities on Funbrain, you can scroll to the bottom of the Playground page and click “Load more”.

Let me know if you have any questions or issues. Stay safe friends!
