Hi Everyone! This will be the the last lesson of the year for us to allow the parents and students an easy transition into the summer. The last week of class can be pretty chaotic so I'm going to make it a little easier for you :-)

This week we will continue with our keyboarding practice. Your student should know how to log into their TYPING.COM account. The user ID is most likely the first letter of their first name followed by their last name. No capital letters and no spaces (ex: jbarlowe) and the password is Password1 with a capital P. Please have them practice at LEAST two 20 minute practices over the course of this week on the website’s lessons. Please avoid just letting them play the typing games. Their typing scores do affect their grade in 5th so this is important to get proper typing techniques set in place.

Please keep those fingers covered! Getting out of the habit of looking at keys when you type is a hard habit to break once it's been established. It is my expectation that students will be typing 15 words per minute with at least 90% accuracy by the end of the school year.

Please have your student show you their testing progress over the course of this year. You should be able to see the results of their typing tests and get a general idea of how they are doing as well as who needs additional practice.
